After the Mack Brown scenerio last week, I have to wonder about Will Muschamp's job now. I know that Florida's higher ups have stated that his job is safe but after all that happened last week with his supposedly returning players, I have to wonder if there will be some second thoughts about him down in The Swamp.

Muschamp has lost almost his entire offense, which wasn't that potent anyway, and you have to wonder just how many years, maybe if possible at all, it will take to get their team back to where it once was. Muschamp is known for his coaching of the defensive side of the ball and even that group wasn't that impressive as it wasn't at Texas as well.

Maybe there are some at Florida who have strong beliefs in him, but I think there are more that may have doubts in his coaching abilities now. It will not surprise me at all to hear something about a shakeup at Florida in the near future after the mutiny of the players last week. Mack Brown said he wasn't leaving Texas and we saw what happened, but this is Florida and they may be happy with mediocrity anymore.

From what I've heard from the several Gator fans I know, there is little confidence if any among the fanbase.  All of the confidence for Muschamp comes from above him in the AD and higherups.  It sure isn't looking too good for him next year if he does stay on as HC...

Probably a question of 'when', not 'if.'  In the past UF's coaching changes have been smooth and well planned.  It increasingly looks like Mush has lost control of the program.  (No Richt pun intended!)  But coaching changes have to happen at the right time to get the best hires.  So I'd guess he goes in the next 2 - 3 weeks, or he stays another year.  Just MHO...

I think his job is safe for now. He had Florida in a BCS game (Sugar) last year. Like Georgia, Florida was hit with a lot of season ending injuries this year. I think all the players leaving is mostly thinning the herd. All but two of them were buried in the depth chart. The only reason Tyler Murphy was playing was the Driskel and the # 2 QB were hurt. Even with all the players leaving Florida only has 23 open scholarships to give this year.

I disagree Florida does not have a good defense. A quick look at the SEC team stats found them #3 in points allowed and #2 in yards allowed.

He has to get the Florida offense on track next year. He will enter the season on the hot seat and better get 8-10 wins or he will be gone.

My question is this; what do his recruits now think after seeing a mass exodus with the offensive players? You know at least some will jump ship and I would think that his bosses would know that. Of course the same thing will happen if he is fired, so it will be very interesting to see what happens. It might be a good time to tell his recruits "We're just making room for you".

I agree with everything but the 8-10 wins to save his job. I think he has to win 10 games & beat somebody, like Georgia or LSU.

I'm not so sure he has to win 10 games but he definitely has to beat UGA.  Their fans are way past being tired of losing to them...

He needs to win some big games like UGA, USCe and Fl State and be competitive in the SEC East. I agree he needs the UGA game. UGA has won three in a row.

If they beat LSU & Georgia, he probably would be safe at maybe 8 wins. No way I see them beating LSU, though. Florida's schedule has some real challenges for them.

AWAY GAMES

Alabama
Vandy
UT
FSU

HOME

Missouri
USC
Georgia (Jacksonville)
LSU

I see 4 losses for sure with Alabama, FSU, LSU, & USC.

Florida has a difficult draw from the SEC West getting us in T-town and LSU at home. Add FSU on the road and that is a killer schedule.

I doubt that Fla will be bowl eligible next year unless something bigtime happens with their team.
