The 1979 Sugar Bowl to me was the greatest ever. The NC was on the line. The goaline stand was excellent. I can still feel the TV vibrate as me and friends were jumping up and down when the hit was made. Barry was so prepared for that stop. Still makes chills come on me. Joe Paterno still talks about that game and says "Paul Bryant conned me into playing him in that game." lol, it was one NC win we will never forget. RTR!

The birth of our children was ok. The 1979 Sugar Bowl was GREAT. Started the game complaining about our crappy first row end zone seats.

I don't think anything could beat the 1979 Sugar Bowl. It was just awesome.

I agree the 79 game was great. There are some games missing from the list IMO. The 92 Miami game was great. On a sad note the 73 Notre Dame game was a terrific game. Too bad we came out on the wrong end of that one. It still hurts me to think about that game today.

The 1966 team QBed by Stabler slaughtered Nebraska 34-7 in the Sugar. Nebraska had a huge team (and undefeated) but the Tide carved them up like a turkey. One of the greatest wins in Tide history.

Actually, Neb lost to Okie that year, 10-9.  But I think that 34-7 game was my favorite bowl game under Coach Bryant.

The 1967 Sugar Bowl was the 34-7 game.

True, 1966 undefeated Alabama team played in the 1967 Sugar Bowl.  That's always a point of confusion.

That 1966 Nebraska team won 9 of 10 games before being crushed by Alabama in the Sugar Bowl.  As I recall, the slaughter got started with a long completion, Stabler to Ray Perkins.  Bama was never threatened after that first drive.  It was 24-0 at halftime.

Me too. I started dating a girl in Montgomery and she moved to Atlanta. I was spending the weekend with her and her parents in Atlanta and we watched the Bama/ ND game. With her parents present, I really had to behave myself. That was tough enough as it was. I'm like you pmull, that game still hurts today. My 2 favorites are the Bama blow-out of Nebraska and the stomping we put on Miami.

The biggest hurt I ever had was the 2 losses to ND. I still today look for us to play ND and beat them. It is my belief that as of today we have never beaten ND. RTR!

We beat ND in 87. Lou Holtz was the coach. There is a Daniel Moore picture with C. Bennett nearly killing their OB. The painting is called "The Sack".
