Quote
The total yardage disparity was 668-170 while top-ranked Alabama (6-0, 3-0 SEC) rolled up 35 first downs to Kentucky's 13. Alabama's offensive output was the largest of the season after topping the 568 gained at Texas A&M...

"We don't ever want to give up a touchdown," safety Vinnie Sunseri said. "We shouldn't have even done that. It was a lot of mental errors, a lot of mishaps. Guys didn't do what they were supposed to do and they capitalized on it. That's what they're supposed to do. We have to go back, correct those things, and make sure we never do them again."

Since we scored 48, I can forgive them.  Wink

I'm still shaking my head at how easily they won and how bad they played. These fumles and dropped passes are going to be very costly down the road unless there is a lot of improvement there.

I think we had some improvement too, though.

1. Except for a couple of penalties by freshman Grant Hill, the O-line played great.
2. Amari Cooper looked much better, and had some great blocks and catches/runs.
3. We found new ways to get the ball to Christion Jones.
4. Our passing game continued to improve, despite several dropped passes.  Future Ds will have to prepare for a bunch of new patterns, including our adjustment to the deep-umbrella D we faced at UK.
5. AJ looked sharp!  This time last year he had some poor games throwing the ball.

Good points, all of them. I hope we get rid of these mistakes by the time LSU comes to town and when we play Missouri for the SECCG.

Missouri?
These mistakes give CNS ammo for practice.  Worst thing we can do against these weaker teams is play a perfect game.  The players need to see their weaknesses now, then we'll have a game against the biggies like we did against ND last year!

I agree on both counts.

They played poorly in the first half, especially the first quarter, but the mistakes and miscues (and Saban) lit a fire under them, and they bounced back to play like the dominant team that they could be.  The talent is there, for the next few games they have to work on consistency.

I can't argue your points, they are good but these fumbles have been around most of the year and I'm getting a little nervous with them still happening. There are some tough games ahead that won't be as easy as some that they have played already.

I'm not sure it will be Missouri with Franklin's injury and the big games MO has coming up.

Mizzou has a brutal schedule ahead of them. They play Florida, USCe, Tenn, @ UK, @ Ole Miss and A&M. Without Franklin I see 2-3 losses. Who knows, a 2 loss team could win the East this year.

Fumbles have been a little more frequent than I'm comfortable with this year, but two consecutive red zone fumbles is just a fluke.  If one hadn't happened we'd all be talking about what a great win it was.

The most important thing we've seen the last couple of weeks is that the offensive line was worked out whatever was wrong at the beginning of the year.  We're running the ball like we did last year, plus Cooper is reemerging and AJ is playing well.

LSU has a good offense but our defense is better.  They don't have a great defense this year.

I don't think we have anything to worry about.

If we get Mizzou, then Ohio State, we will cruise right into #16.
