Share your observations and thoughts from the game. I'll start. First, Johnny Football is the best player in the game this year, and it's not even close. I think he might be the best QB I have seen since Peyton. He's better than Cam and Robert Griffin. He has great touch: he put his long passes in places where only his guy could catch it. He has a great ability to read defenses pre-snap. Not as good as Peyton of course, but who does? And of course he has incredible escape ability. Second, didn't play that poorly. Most of the game they were not in terrible position but JF just put the ball on the money. The DL played okay but didn't get a consistent push. A&M does have a fantastic OL so I give them credit. The offense of course was on fire. AJ and the WRs played lights out, and the OL and RBs played great as well. But one thing that was overlooked is our special teams. I thought they did a very good job. Coaches made some good adjustments in game. Bottom line; Bama survived against the best player in the country in their own house. They will not play a QB of that caliber again unless they play Oregon. I am happy with the win and think Bama will play better the rest of the year. I also predict that A&M will not lose again. But once JF leaves A&M will be like Auburn post-Cam; Mediocre to bottom of the pack. And I look forward to HSCoach and his observations. Roll Tide!

I have some thoughts, but I am too busy watching the barn lose to type them up right now.

In short, JF has NFL talent but makes sophomore decisions sometimes.  After JF is gone they will still have Kevin Sumlin.  He is an impressive coach, and he can take his pick from all of those Texas recruits while Mack Brown continues as the ring master at that 3 ring circus they have going on at UT.

I have to disagree somewhat about Manziel's passing. He had at least 150 yards passing due to WIDE OPEN receivers, including the 95 yard TD. Many of us could have completed those passes. He was excellent, but Cam, Peyton, and several others are much better.

 Huh?

I predict that if Bama takes care of their business by winning out there will very likely be an all-SEC BCSNCG again this year, Bama vs. aTm.  I really hope that isn't the case because I would hate for Bama to have to try and beat them again...

I'm not sure they can get by LSU, but they could make the title game but Ohio St., Oregon, & Stanford have to lose.

I'm not sure many of us could have avoided the rushers to give the receivers time to get open.

I agree Manziel is no Manning.  (I don't put Cam in the same category.)  I also agree with SuperCoach that he has talent (the touch and elusiveness) to play in the NFL but makes "sophomore decisions."  Heck, he is a sophomore.  I don't think he will be ready for the NFL next year, but he'll leave college station at his first opportunity.

OK my 2-cents... [1] OL which proved nothing vs. VaTech proved a lot today.  Eleminate the silly mistakes and continue to get better and they will be a good group.  [2] Not sure how much D-line not getting pressure was failure to fight off blocks or a technique to contain JFF.  In any case, we need to get better pressure on QB's.  [3] What's up with Amari ??  [4] DB's have a lot of work to do.  Thankfully we have a few weeks/games where they can work to improve.  But if they don't get it together by Nov, Zack M & LSU might whack us. [5] But mainly, an SEC road win against a team as good as aTm is a big deal!!!  RTR

Not going to try and say Manziel ISN'T talented, because he most certainly is. He is about as elusive as I have ever seen, and he has great arm strength. I wonder, though, if his receivers shouldn't be getting a little more credit. It seems to me that he floated a number of his passes tonight and just let his big receivers go up and get them. Again, I am not trying to downplay his talent at all. Just wondering if you guys think that is true.

Go back and watch his long passes. He put the ball right on the money most of the night. He has incredible touch on the long passes.

Manziel did chunk a few passes up in the air to his tall receiver.  His "Heisman Moment" play was definitely on the receiver.

90% of the time, that play is an interception.  9% it is an incomplete.

Manziel is overrated, he's good but not as good as they have made him out to be, DB's are one of our weakest links which I was concerned about, Arie and Cyrus K make way too many mistakes, if we can get the DB's and the brothers straightened out we could be unbeatable.

Another thing to think about; Cam had 5 200 yd passing games and 2 300 yd passing games. He never threw for more than 400 yds. Manziel has done it 3 times. Manziel has a better arm than Cam and he is just as fast and slippery as Cam. I'm not saying he's Andrew Luck or Peyton Manning, but he certainly is an elite passer and he is also an elite runner.

Again, not saying he is not talented, but I am not sure about the incredible part, either. I also didn't say ALL of his passes, just a number of them.
