I will try to keep up with the scores for everyone tonight.  The semifinal starts at 5pm and I have a board meeting starting at 6pm.

The other five teams in the Semifinal are Nebraska, Utah, Kent St., Florida, and Oregon State.

In the first Semifinal earlier today UCLA, Michigan, and Oklahoma advanced to the Super Six. Oklahoma won the Semifinal with a team score of 196.775, Michigan had a 196.700, and UCLA had a 196.500.

The scores we want are 9.85 and higher.  If we average a 9.85, we will hit the 197 mark.

Here's a link to the ncaa web site where you can watch the event live on your computer....

Florida had a 48.125 on beam in their first rotation.  Barring some really weird things happening, that might very well knock Florida out of advancing.

We're doing quite well.  Everyone is done with their second rotation.  Right now, it's Nebraska, then us, then everybody else (who are fighting for 3rd place right now).

Session Place Team                          Score
2         1       University of Nebraska   98.800
2         2       University of Alabama    98.750
2         3       Oregon State University 98.050
2         4       University of Utah         97.800
2         5       University of Florida       97.575
2         6       Kent State University     97.050

At the end of 3 events for 4 of the six teams:

 Place  Team                         Score
 1       University of Nebraska   147.575
 2       Oregon State University 147.450
 3       University of Utah         146.925
 4       University of Florida       146.825
 5       University of Alabama     98.750
 6       Kent State University     97.050

There will be more of an apples-to-apples comparison after we all get done with the third event, but it looks like we and Nebraska will be fighting for first place, with Oregon State in third unless one of those 3 schools has a catastrophe.

I'm not sure what happened, but we had an 8.200 score on the bars.  As long as we don't have another fall on bars, i.e., the catastrophe that I referred to earlier, then we should be fine.

Our ladies pulled out a 49.350 on the bars.  Way to rebound!  As long as we don't have any major mistakes on beam, we should easily cruise into the finals tomorrow.

Place Team                         Score
1      University of Utah         196.200
2      Oregon State University 196.100
3      University of Alabama    148.100
4      University of Nebraska   147.575
5      University of Florida      146.825
6      Kent State University    146.000

These are the current standings.  Utah and Oregon State are done.  OSU probably knocked themselves out of third place with their performance on beam.  Florida has clawed their way back into this and has a shot at overtaking Utah for third.

Place Team                         Score
1      University of Alabama    197.050
2      University of Nebraska   196.850
3      University of Utah         196.200
4      University of Florida       196.125
5      Oregon State University 196.100
6      Kent State University    195.000

It looks like 3 of our gymnasts placed in the top 3 of the all-around.  We had the only 197+ score in either of the two sessions today.  The finals are tomorrow evening.  Roll Tide!!!

I caught this pretty good. There was 2 SEC teams in the ranking. The SEC seems to be good in all sports above other conferences. RTR!
