I get far more complaints about the kitchen floor tile being cold than no AC. If I built a new home it would have AC, but I'd have to think about it. Not a slam dunk decision.

Myth

People think cucumbers contains a "special ingredient" to reduce swelling or bags around the eyes. In truth, since something like 90% of a cucumber consists of water it is in fact the cooling effect of the water in the cucumbers on eyes, together with the increased humidity created from having it on the eye, that reduces the swelling.

Yves Rocher makes an set of eye cushions that are filled with gel - they have the same effect. In fact, lots of products exist like that. Some of them are made to even looks like sliced cucumbers

The cucumber itself does not reduce puffiness. Cucumbers are able to stay cold for long periods of time outside of a refrigerator. That cold is what actually reduces puffiness (it causes blood vessels around our eyes to constrict, thereby reducing swelling). Of course, you could also lay a cold dirty sock over your eyes and it would help as much.
