Good morning folks.  Early morning feels, well, early.  I'll be leaving in a couple hours to go with Dad to one of his doctor appointments then probably back to work.

Preacher, another thing we are working towards where I go to church is to put up surveillance cameras in and around our building.  We will have a monitor near the lobby so that one of the ushers can view the perimeter of the building but can't be seen themselves from outside.  The doors will be locked (it seems counter productive to lock the doors of the house of worship during services) but the usher can/will go and unlock them to let people in.  I suppose, if a person appears suspicious then a call to the police will be made.  Hopefully it will never get to that point.

What did this person actually do Preacher?

GOOD MORNING, CRIMSON RED SPORTS!  Coffee

I had to stop for rest 3 times yesterday between St. Louis and Oxford, but I made it home before dark.  Lots of delays on the road this trip (accidents and work areas).  Thank you for your well wishes.
 Kiss

Worst delay was in Kansas City.  I came south from Iowa on I-29 to I-70.  But I-70 exit was closed going both east and west.  I went south and did a U-turn, then found those north-bound exits to I-70 were closed too.  The interstate was closed!  So I ended up driving through the streets of KC parallel to I-70 for 45 minutes until I got beyond the construction (20 miles east of KC).  Ugh!

No surprise, but I'm confused by Ricky's post about someone in their church.  Is this a prowler, or is it simply the first visitor they've had in 10 years?

NALT this guy told the church that he visited that he was a Profit and he wanted everybody to get out their cell phones and hold them up. Then he to see their debit cards. He told one man he lied to God for not holding his cell phone up. So all 3 churches called Deputy Price who was on duty that day and he found him. They when they found out where the guy was from and what he was doing.
As you said it breaks my heart but it is a sign of the times we live in. Please be safe.
Chechem it is good to have you back home safely. RTR!

Good Tuesday morning!

Well, looks like the Saints pulled one out in an exciting game, with a 58 yd FG as time expired to beat the Texans 30-28. I went to bed with the Texans up 21-17. I really thought they would win because the Saints, much like Bama a few years ago, couldn't stop Deshaun Watson.

The Raiders beat the Broncos 24-16. Josh Jacobs scored 2 TDs for the Raiders. Wooot!!! Scott Van Pelt this morning was comparing him to Bo Jackson.

The Braves beat the Phillies last night 7-2. The Nats were idle, so the lead is now 9 1/2 games. They have 17 games remaining in the regular season. Someone smarter than me can figure out their magic number.

Thanks for the scores, 2.

I watched the Saints game until the end.  AMAZING.  Watson threw 2 long passes in a 2-play drive with just 50 seconds left to score and take the lead.  But the PAT was missed, making it a tie.  BUT, some idiot Saint bumped the kicker's foot (and he flopped down), so they got a second try and went ahead by 1.

That left just 37 seconds.  Brees completed a bunch of short passes, and the new kicker booted one 58 yards for the win.  WOOT.

Kudos to Jacobs.
Kudos to the Braves.

Magic number: 10M fans (that's how many will kick their butts if they blow this!).

Good morning folks.  I was up late last night doing some school work/studying.  Dragging this morning.  Oh well... I was able to listen to part of the Braves game.  Exciting times to be a Braves' fan.  The win last night equaled the number of wins they had last season, 90.  With 17 games to go it is plausible that they can hit 100 wins this season.  They are also, unless I misread the standings, the 4th place team in all of MLB right now.  The only trail Doc's Dodgers by 3 games. Hopefully they will overtake them to secure home field advantage through the playoffs. Sorry Doc... Wink

I was at a meeting today where Marcus Lattimore was the keynote speaker. The former USCe RB is currently in charge of player development. The guy is extremely intelligent and had one heck of a story to tell. If you ever get a chance to hear him speak, go hear him. You won't regret it.

I talked to him afterwards. Even he knows it's a total uphill battle for them this week. He does seem to think, though, that if they score first, that they will stay with Bama into the 4th quarter. Lord, I hope not. I asked him to please don't let Hilisky go all Stephen Garcia on us. He was most amused.

Morning, Chech. Just got back from my walk. I almost feel invigorated.

Braves lost last night, but so did the Nats, so no change there.

Good morning.

Thanks for the Braves update.  First time in years that their pacle seems secure!

Our O-line players are getting healthy, and several returned to practice yesterday.  WOOT!

Good morning folks.  Hate the Braves lost and they really should have won that game.  Gave up 4 runs in the 1st inning on 3 HR's.  The situation actually did change though.  With the Nationals losing the magic number dropped to 9.  Had the Braves won and the Nats lost we would have gained 2 games on our magic number.

The Alabama Wildlife Federation will host its annual Wild Game Cook-off at the Birmingham Zoo.  That makes me chuckle.
