Golf for the first 13 holes was a horrible effort on my part. My golf partner had to have had a broken back, carrying me up to that point, and even he couldn't match the play of one of our competitors. However, I started getting it together enough to par 14, 15, and 16, while winning #14. We were playing skins, so 15 and 16 were carry overs.

I hit my drive on 17 to the right and ended up with a terrible lie. I barely got a club on my second shot and topped it. The ball hit the edge of the cart path. popped up and came backwards about 5 feet. There were overhanging limbs directly in front of me.

Meanwhile. my playing partner hit his second shot in the trap, and our competitors were just off the green to the right in good position.

So I'm hitting my third shot from 145 yds out, with my only chance to get on the green being to hit a low cut shot to avoid the overhanging limbs. I hit it flush, it cuts from left to right and I'm thinking; "I'm on the green and it looks like I'll have a decent putt for par". All of a sudden, the ball keeps rolling towards the hole and disappears. I hit the shot of my life to make birdie and the money that goes with it, plus the carry over holes and the money that goes with it.

I parred #18 to win that hole also. We went from being $13 down to winning $22 on the back nine. I've had 2 holes in one, but this shot was more exhilarating because of how difficult it was. Like I said, the shot of my life.

I had to post this because this will be the last time I play golf for at least 7-10 weeks. I will be having surgery a week from Monday. This is a pretty good feeling to hold onto until I can get back out there again.

Chech, I hope your catching lots of fish.

All the very best with your operation, 2.  That gives you several weeks to relax and watch the "expert" golfers on TV dump shots in the sand and water.  And remember, you're still in better shape than Tiger, and a better golfer too.   Cheesy

Well done, 2.
And good description; great shot AND the money!

My bro sent me a text; he won a tournament today in B'ham.  Must have been a good day for golf!

Was good for fishing too.  The water is still rising, so the fish weren't rising.  So we spent the day fishing nymphs.  We were joined by 2 guys from Denver who schooled us.  They had the right bugs and the right technique.  So I got a free education, AND caught a bunch of trout.

It was beautiful today in Basalt: 75 and sunny all day.  Just lovely.  Watching a Golden Eagle soar over the river this morning at sunrise made my day.  I sat alongside the river with my binoculars and just watched.  Incredible birds!

I guess yesterday was a great day for incredible birds too.

Glad your education landed you some good fishing, Chech.

Thanks OT. Yeah, I hear Tiger is jealous of me.  Cool

Sounds like everyone had good times yesterday.  Glad to hear all of that.  I'm back to work this morning.  We got a lot of rain during the night but at least my driveway is still mostly there...

Were you able to get that tree cleared, NALT?

Good luck with work, NALT.  Did you get the tree work done?

@ Tiger 2: Yeah, we'll see if I was a good student.  The guy most knowledgeable yesterday gave me some tips that I'll try today.  If they pan out, I'll catch a bunch early this morning.

We got most of the tree cut up and hauled to the road on Monday, Memorial Day.  I still have to get the stump drug out to the road.  Was  hoping to do that yesterday but Mrs. Nalt had other plans...No big deal really though.

Glad the work getting done NALT. I do hope everybody had a great weekend. Chechem have safe travels now when you're turning up the asphalt. Mrs Dottie is feeling much better today actually got some sleep last night. She is taking another day of rest today. It has been raining here off and on all night and into this morning and even the sun peeks out at times. Well you all be safe. RTR!

Well, it's 11:20 PM and the water damage people are in my house ripping out sheetrock and carpet. Mrs. 2 was trying to hang a TV bracket and hit a water line. I could not get the water shut off at the main to save my life. I called 911 and they sent the fire dept. and it took them 15 minutes to get the water shut off. Our bedroom and everything in it is ruined. Water poured in for about 40 minutes before they finally got the valve turned off. The garage was in an inch of standing water. Half of our possessions are in the front yard and we're supposed to get more rain.

We were lucky enough to get a plumber out here to fix the break at least, and the insurance company has been notified. As soon as the water damage people get the flooring up from the garage, we can put everything in there. We are racing against the weather.

Oh my gosh 2!!! How terrible of a mess it must be. Hopefully the repairmen can get your place liveable today until you can get permanent repairs. This is just terrible. Is there anything that I could come down there and help you with?

Good morning folks.  Very sorry to hear about the water damage 2.  Hopefully the insurance company will work WITH you guys to get the repairs done and not against you.

Coffee

OMG, 2, that's horrible news about your house flooding.  How crazy is that!

Hopefully by this morning you've gotten everything under control.
Sending my good thoughts and best wishes your way.

Guess we should all put in a gate valve between the water main and the house, huh?  Something not considered until too late.

I'll send updates later.  Travel tomorrow...

Thanks guys. J, they've got it under control now. All my kids and their significant others came over and moved everything to the garage, once DKI finished in there. About 15 minutes after everything was moved in, the heavens broke loose and it started pouring down rain, complete with thunder and lightning. We were lucky there.

The bedroom that was flooded has got a huge dryer fan just going to town now. I went to bed before they finished and Mrs 2 is asleep, so I'm not exactly sure yet where we go from here.

I might just have a cup of coffee this morning.  Tinfoil Hat
