I want to thank Jesus for sparing my family member in T-Town
we finally got in touch after quite awhile
my BIL was on the phone with my niece when it hit and her phone went dead
she called because the sirens were going off and wanted to know if we knew anything about it
in the middle of the call the phone dropped
we found out she was in the basement like Terrie said her friends were and safe , Thanks God !

It looks like someone dropped a bomb right in the middle of 15th Street. You know its bad when you are looking at a street you have known all your life and you can't tell exactly what direction you are looking in or what exactly you are looking at.

Spann says 25 dead in Tuscaloosa and Jefferson County. Very sad day for the state of Alabama.

The Tuscaloosa News' website is now saying that there are 15 confirmed fatalities in Tuscaloosa, with well over 100 injured.  I think there will be more than 25 dead as more reports come in.  Very sad indeed.

Thanks X, but I am very thankful that I have heard from all of my family and they all seem to be OK. I will not lose sight of that fact. Buildings can be replaced but loved ones cannot.

Guys, I agree.  I lived in Northington Apartments back in 1972.  I know those apartments are history, but it looks like that area was leveled today.  The hospital looked to be damaged too.

James Spann reported 40 dead, 15 in Tuscaloosa....so far. A volunteer firefighter in Hackleburg, near Hamilton is reporting to Spann now that the entire town has been destroyed, includes church, school, drug store, grocery store, doctor's offices, and MANY homes.
