Hey folks.  Sitting at the hospital with Runt.  He is doing really good.  His blood count is up again today and the doc said he could possibly go home earlier than expected.  Hope so.  Hopefully tomorrow's blood test will reveal another higher count and when the doc comes in he will sign the discharge orders...

Great news, NALT!!! Give Runt our best. Hope he gets to go home tomorrow.

32 degrees here this morning. Will be doing the treadmill today. The ducks are on their own.

Astros win in 10 innings and are one win away from taking the WS from the Dodgers. I'm guessing Hannibel is less than happy right now.

Excellent baseball last night, as 2 said.  I thought the Dodgers had that game, but NOT IN HOUSTON.  The Astros are hard to beat there!

It's not as cold here -- 43 this morning.  Supposed to be sunny and upper 60s.  Nice day.  But I'll be back on the treadmill too.

Lots of big news coming in football this week when the Playoff Committee releases its first rankings.  Expect a crazy list!

Enjoy the day.  Hope the ducks survive alone, and hope Runt gets to go home today.

Good morning folks.  Cold here this morning, 34 degrees.  First frost of the year that I've seen.  They took a blood sample from Runt around 4:30 this morning.  I'll call Mrs. Nalt after a while to see if she had gotten the report back.  Doc told me yesterday that he probably won't get to come and see Runt until after he gets off work so we won't know if he gets to go home until late this afternoon.  I have a doctor appointment myself this afternoon.  I think I have a torn rotator cuff.  If so, I'll be getting that fixed ASAP since we met our $3500 deductible earlier this year.  Sure don't want to wait and try to meet it next year just because...

Torn rotator?  Dang, NALT.  I had one of those from playing volleyball (years ago).  Takes months to heal.  I still exercise it with light weights.  Your deductible will be needed for surgery and for rehab.

I would definitely prefer to not have surgery.  Having lots of pain though and it is somewhat disabling to a point.  I've been lifting pretty heavy when I go to the gym so I'll be surprised if he doesn't say I need to have it repaired...

They try to do it through rehab with surgery as a last resort unless the tear is serious. He most likely will tell you to stop or modify the weightlifting, though.

Good news!  Runt is supposed to be discharged tomorrow (Tuesday) afternoon.  His blood count increased for the third straight day after his transfusion on Friday and the doc was really happy about that.  That means that I can start spending the night at home in my own bed for a change.  My dr. wants me to get an MRI on my shoulder.  I have that scheduled for next Tuesday morning as long as my insurance will approve it...
