Well, LF and I sat in the dark for an hour tonight.  Power went out about half hour after BAMA won the SECCG.  Woot.

Anyhow, I missed the first half of the Mich State - Iowa game, etc  Back on now, and the computers are working again!

Boy that would have been a bummer if it had happened a couple of hours sooner. Glad it worked out okay for you.

Thanks, Jamos.

Last night, after we lost power and it was restored, I listened to the Oxford HS championship game while watching the 3 TV games (it's what we do, right?).

Oxford HS led until a late TD by the Wayne County War Eagles (who wear Aub uniforms) put them down by 4.  Oxford went the length of the field in 45 seconds, and the QB hit the pylon with the ball at 2 seconds.  BUT, no review in high school.  The refs said he didn't score.  So on the final play, Oxford handed to the RB, and he plowed ahead, stretched across the goal with the ball, but the refs said his knee touched first (all this via radio, so who knows).  It was Oxford's 2nd time to lose to Wayne Co in the championship game, and Oxford long-time HC's final game.  What a way to lose!!

That's a shame for Oxford. There's no politics in HS sports, right?  Huh?

To be fair, I was listening to the radio broadcast (Wayne Co's actually).

The shame was that the game was at the Ole Miss stadium, with a JumboTron and replay for the fans to see (it was televised somewhere).  But the rules don't allow replay in high school.

My BIL in Ct told me that his HS team was playing their arch rival from Rhode Island, and his team kicked the winning field goal. The refs said it was no good, that because even though the ball went right down the middle, it exceeded the height of the uprights. The police had to escort them off the field. That's the most bizarre thing I've ever heard. He says that sort of thing still goes on today when Rhode Island and Connecticut high schools play each other.

Surprised they have football up there!

Not surprised they don't have honest refs!
