There was a tornado warning SW of us last night, plenty of high winds and rain, but nothing threatening here.  It's still raining and windy, but the front has passed.  Whew.

I'll bet the wind is whipping those pine trees along his road.  And his cats are huddled in the barn!

I don't think it's too bad yet. We're texting about football. 

We didn't get much a storm, thank goodness, but we did get over 2 inches of rain. Sassy, the cat, is our Sergeant At Arms of the homestead. She knows everything that is going on here at all times.

Man it rained hard here at our house. It was the hardest rain we have seen since we was in Hurricane Andrew in New Iberia La. when it came a shore down there. RTR!

Good morning. 

Looks like the scumbags are at it again this morning.  No, not the Aubs.  The ISIS knuckleheads have taken over 100 hostages in Mali.  May God strike them dead.

Yes, our world has changed drastically and you have to ask the question of who let it happen and why. I usually don't follow the world news as I do our local and state news but it seems almost impossible not to now with all of what's happening with ISIS. At the first of the football season I saw a man, woman, and two teenage kids at a concession stand at one of Bama's games wearing tshirts with bold IS on them and it didn't ring a bell with me until later in the day and I told Mrs. J about it. I don't know if it was related to the ISIS movement or maybe something else but I wish now that I had gotten a picture of them.

The ISIS situation is bad but shootings and killings locally have become more prevelant than ever before. If the number of people killed daily were added up for a monthly count, it would compare to one of the mass killings that we see on television so often in foreign countries. To top all of that off is the movement by certain groups of people to limit our local police forces of their power to enforce the local and state laws. This, to me, will in time enhance our chances of seeing more and more mass killings in our country which seems to be an acceptable thing by some of our leaders anymore.

Oh well enough of the world news. Will Ole Miss beat LSU Saturday? I bet the campus is already alive and getting ready for the big game. This used to be THE GAME annually in the SEC other than the Iron Bowl, is it still felt that way on campus there?

Back in October, I enrolled a lady who lives with her daughter and SIL. The lady had a Muslim last name but was as American as you and I. She was single. She qualified for a better plan because of her income, and I went to put her on that plan the day before yesterday. She told me she got married to a much younger man, but she still lived with her daughter and SIL, and he was nowhere to be seen. She showed me her marriage license. She married a man with a very Muslim name.

On my way home, I was asking myself "Is she marrying Muslim men so that they can become citizens of this country?" Then, I wondered if there are a bunch of women doing this?

Maybe I'm just paranoid, but her situation just did not add up to me, and gives me great concern about what may be happening here, and could this be something widespread?

Has anyone heard anything about this happening anywhere. or am I just too paranoid?

I do know of marriages happening on campus of U of A such as you described and it started many years ago. If I remember correctly, the foreign students were here on a school program and would have to return to their country when that time expired unless they married an American which would change their status in the United States. They never lived together either.

I could deal with that better than the sinister thoughts I've been having concerning this lady, and maybe others like her. What better way for ISIS to build a presence here in the U.S.?
