A great win last night for Bama. I was happy overall with our offense and our run defense. Still a few bumps in the road with the pass defense. I'm very surprised about our kicking game. Pretty stinky. I know Griffith has had issues and apparently, still does, but Scott was not his usual stellar self. I wonder if he has some kind of little nagging injury?

Anyway, ROLL TIDE!!!

ROLL TIDE indeed.  Morning, all.  Coffee

Considering we were playing so many freshmen on defense, they did well.  The whole first half was played pretty much base on D.  Once we started blitzing, Wisconsin's QB showed his weakness.  I thought we played well against a quality opponent.

The kicking game?  We'll need a separate thread for that one.  Who knows what's in the head of a kicker/punter!

Good point about the D. They'll get better game by game.

Most salient point made last night:

Alabama looked better than any other top-10 team, and did it against a top-20 opponent.

Wisconsin played well enough to beat many teams, just as they beat the Aubs in the Outback Bowl.  They were well prepared.

Yeah, they were better than I thought they'd be. Stave is a better QB this year than last, and their D was pretty darn good.

Losing the safety early hurt their defense.  Not likely he'd have been able to tackle King Henry anyhow.  He tried once!

We had 11 penalties for 120 yds. We need to clean that up.

I have a small problem and maybe I am wrong but here goes. Adam looked like his back is nowhere healed by the way he shanked his FG goal attempt. Help me here. Also, the penalties really killed us. They took at least 3 points off the board if not 7; against a team like tosu, barn, georgia, or ole miss that could cost us a game.
Again this year it seemed to me as if the DB's were beaten to much. The one Pass Interference call on Humphrey I wanted to scream but he never even acted like a football could be thrown his way. He never at all attempted to turn his head to find the ball. I know this might be called well it can be find in time but how much time? RTR!

Well I pray that J's horse becomes completely healed and that our horses run plumb out of their shoes tonight. RTR!

Ricky you are too much, I can't wait to show Mrs. J your post when she gets back from her trip. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Applause E-Cred

By the way, I have become the veterinarian around here since the useless trip to the vet school at Miss State last week. I got me some Epsom Salts, hot water and clean bandages and I've got this horse walking around like a new horse again. Wink

Good comment by Tom Oakes in the Wisconsin State Journal (in Madison):

"What we found out about Alabama is that it isn't Auburn or LSU -- SEC powers that UW played on even terms last season."

Thank goodness today's a holiday.  I'm not ready for work again yet!

Good morning.  Looks like lots of discussion about the excellent play of our WRs, RBs, and even QBs.  Our hscoach wrote a nice review of the game (must read).

But not much praise for the offensive display put together by Kiffin.  Very well done, Coach Kiffin.
