Morning boys. I am home instead of at church this morning with a sick young'un, and getting a little nervous about this coming weekend. I am due to take my comprehensive exam this weekend, which will be the last hurdle in my way of earning my Masters degree from Catholic University. If you guys think about it on Friday and Saturday, please remember me in your prayers that I can do well.

I'll send prayers.

I've sat in many comps.  Remember, faculty attend those out of obligation, and want to ensure quality of education.  It's not personal when they probe to find out what you don't know.  Best advice is that you ...
1) prepare well, especially the basics (everyone is expected to know those);
2) answer everything, either by telling what you know or asking for clarification as a reminder to help you;
3) don't BS if you don't know, and don't blame your lack of knowledge on anything or anyone else;
4) don't try too hard to impress;
5) never lose your cool or take a question personally;
6) be yourself, and let your personality show.

@pmull - You are right about the gym. That will be my next step. I've had so much going on that I've just been putting it off. As far as the golf swing goes, I can't make a full swing and follow all the way through because of my knees. They dislocate at the drop of a hat. Something I'll just have to live with, but hitting the gym will help.

Well glad to be up this morning. Going to the VA eye clinic today in B'ham. Looking forward to the NIT game and hoping we win the tourney. I would love to see our seniors go out in a big way. RTR!

Of course this is true, but I have often wondered if there is something about cold weather that causes bacteria and viruses to thrive.

If only we had a biology professor around here to enlighten us on this matter...
