Howdy everyone.

I finally got a chance to chase some bass today before the storm got here and had lots of fun. We did catch some but they were small, it looks like the prespawn has kicked off in that part of the river.

Small?  Just hold it close to the camera!

Ha, that's one way to do it but in your picture that looks to be a 10 pounder or better, look at the size of the girth on that fish. In all the years I have fished, I have never caught a bass larger than 9lb 8 oz but Mrs. J has, she caught a 10 pounder at Lake Okeechobee as well as a 9 pounder on the same day. Angry

I've never broken the 10-lb size either, despite fishing HARD for years.  I think you and I may need to visit that California lake for those deep-water largemouths they're raised there.

I once was fishing with a girl (young woman) who caught the big bass of the weekend while reading a Bible.  That story is worthy of a beer.  Remind me next time we visit.

BTW, that pic (above) was off the web.

Just got REAL dark outside and LOTS of thunder.
Looks like it's here again!   Sad

edit: Tornado-Warning Alarms just went off.  Looks like it's NW of us.  Shocked

Strong storms are beginning to move into Alabama. Decatur area schools let kids go home at 1:00. I hope this is not like three years ago.

Charge your cell phone, you not not get another chance for awhile.

Stay dry and hopefully this will not be any more than just a lot of rain.

The kids were all sent home at 2PM from Oxford schools.  It's nasty.
Tupelo, MS is getting hammered right now, and Alabama gets it next!

It looks like Mississippi is getting bombed by some tornadoes. I see the shear around 5 PM should help us. RTR!

I do not know why they sent our kids home at 1:00. We have not had a drop of rain or gust of wind yet. According to the weather maps I have seen it will not reach us until about 7-8:00 tonight.

The front does not look huge but there is a lot of yellow, orange and red in the front and that is never good.

Here they sent them home so they could clean the buildings, secure them, and then send all of the staff home too.  It wasn't just for the kids, but that too.

Tupelo, MS got hit by a tornado.  It hit the west side of town and across the north part where Hwy 78 (Memphis to B'ham) passes through.  The mall is right where it hit, but I haven't heard if it's okay.  The report was Gloster Street at Hwy 78, which is where the mall is located.

They made the call yesterday to send our kids home at 1:00. They said it takes 2 hours for the bus routes in the county schools to complete their route. Yesterday the storm was projected to be here late afternoon. They made the decision too early IMO. Schools around here should not have let out early today.

Schools let out in your area the same time ours did. The storm front will hit you 3-4 hours before it hits here.

I hope no one was hurt. It is going to be a long afternoon and night for all in this storm's path.

I see what you mean.  It's a mess, and I'm sure the kids don't learn much when the weather outside is so nasty.
I know I'm not getting much work done!

The storm is nearing Florence and Russellville now. They are in the Huntsville TV viewing area and they are reporting tornado warnings. A tornado is on the ground near Russellville.
