Heck of a day for an anniversary.  We've got lines of thunderstorms blowing through, and they're all heading into Alabama.

X, that was e-cred worthy!   Applause E-Cred

Thanks for sending Vince my way.
No worries.  It's not too bad yet.  Rain and thunder galore, but no big bolts of lightning very close and not many high wind gusts.

thought for the day ...

Quote
Since lightning can strike up to 10 miles from a storm, you should seek safe shelter as soon as you hear thunder or see lightning. Get to a safe location if the time between the lightning flash and the rumble of thunder is 30 seconds or less.

be safe everyone   Pray

Howdy everyone.

I finally got a chance to chase some bass today before the storm got here and had lots of fun. We did catch some but they were small, it looks like the prespawn has kicked off in that part of the river.

Small?  Just hold it close to the camera!

We've got a big cell ~20 miles west, and heading at us.  Tornado spotted there.

HUNKER-DOWN TIME!

Decatur City and Morgan County schools are announcing that school will dismiss tomorrow at 1:00 in preparation for severe weather expected to move into the area Monday afternoon.

It is better to be safe than sorry but when they announce these closing this early all we ever get is rain. The really severe weather always catches us by surprise with very little notice. Same way with snow storms.

Update:

The cell with a tornado is heading north of us, and looks like it will pass north by 15 miles.  It's still to our west, but that's the way it looks.  Unfortunately, that's the same little town (Abbeville; 15 miles north of us) that was hit the night before Tuscaloosa a couple of years back (same tornado cells).  Abbeville was hit by tornadoes 3 times in 5 years!  A friend of mine had his house damaged severely twice!  He moved to NY (true!).

Anyhow, we're okay.  Send prayers to folks between Oxford and Memphis.  Pray

Another round of nasty weather heading this way about 7AM today.

Arkansas had it bad yesterday (16 killed), as did Iowa and the midwest.  Pray that everybody is okay today.

Morning everyone. Coffee

Chech, glad to hear that that you were able to dodge the deadly weather last night, poor Arkansas has started this year similar to the kind of weather they had last year.  Sad

Everyone be careful and keep an eye and ear on the weather as this massive storm system crosses our country. Pray
