Quote
TUSCALOOSA -- The University of Alabama investigated claims Friday that impermissible benefits were used to entice a football recruit to sign a letter of intent.

An athletic department source confirmed the investigation, and said the move was standard operating procedure whenever a claim arises of a potential infraction.

Jeffrey Lee, a Rivals.com Auburn reporter, said Thursday on a Mobile radio program that an unnamed person was involved in the illegal recruitment of Russellville High running back Brent Calloway.

Calloway changed his oral commitment from Alabama to Auburn then switched back to Alabama after a visit to Tuscaloosa just days before national signing day.

I know there's an entire thread about the Boogers' accusations, but this one seems legit.  Still, it's the unnamed person who provided enticements that is worrisome.  Harvey wasn't in jail back when this occurred, right?   Shocked

Per the accusation of Lee, Calloway was taken out of the state by this guy the weekend before NSD for whatever reason. If it was to wine and dine him, he didn't do a very good job because Calloway committed to Auburn that Tuesday. Huh?

LOL.  Applause E-Cred

Maybe, just maybe, he was a Booger posing as a Bama fan.  He wanted to set up Bama for a fall ...

NEVER MIND.  Boogers aren't that smart.

The Bleacher Report has a good article on this story today. They indicate that Lee was shut up bu his employer - Rivals. The story basically says he is out to get Bama. It must be tough to be the step-child program in the state.

Why don't the Woodruff guy just deny or admit it and let life go on? RTR!

From what I'm reading elsewhere, he's got his attorneys involved.  He's a business owner, so he's got a pretty big stake in someone attacking his reputation.
