Looking at Oregon's schedule, it is likely that we will see weekly blowouts of the sort we saw last night. I frankly don't think they will have any problem in a shoot-out with USCw. Stanford becomes an important game for 2 reasons. One is that they may end up contending for the #2 spot before it's all said and done. Unlike the ducks, Stanford has a game with with ND which might give them a big boost should they win it decisively. The other is that should we be lucky enough to make the ncg and we play Oregon, the Stanford game will show us how the duck's stack up against a team that plays an awful lot like us on both sides of the ball.

Not sure what this has to do with anything.

I'm talking about game of the year in terms of games that are of significance to us. Looking at Oregon's schedule, I don't see them giving up the number two spot until they meet Stanford. That game is after our game with LSU. Even if LSU beats USCe I don't think they dislodge the ducks. In fact, as many penalties and mistakes as they made, I can see them at #5-8 by the time we play them. All I'm saying is that IF we are still in position to to be in the NCG, and IF Oregon is still in position to be our opponent, Stanford is our opportunity to see how the ducks hold up against a team that plays like us. Everyone else they play is similarly throw it all over the place type teams.

You keep saying, over and over, that Stanford plays like us. We are just concerned for you!

Maybe get on to bed. The interwebz will still be here tomorrow!

Be honest. Have you even watched Stanford play? Do you actually know what you are talking about or are you just saying that no team in the history of team sports is as awesome as we are? I'm not saying they are as good as us, i'm saying they play our style of football. Check the team stats. They are the only team in the PAC that plays our style of football: run/pass balance, time of possession, low points/yards allowed, low turnovers and penalty yards. They are last in passing yards but undefeated.

I knew what you were saying. I have watched them play (bits and pieces). I also know there is no S in Cardinal. But just because a team has helmets and shoulder pads like the big kids wear, it doesn't automatically make them able to play with the big boys. The Pac 10 has a long ways to go when their 2nd best team gives up 17 to San Jose St. JMHO

I think at this point in the season, Stanford would probably give us our best workout

Make no mistake, LSU has not curled up in the fetal position and gone away.

Oh I agree! I expect that tiger to roar, but, that National Championship beat down last year has a lingering effect
