He may have gone the wrong way but the defense followed him on the play and it looked like it was by design. I'm hoping they let him carry the ball somewhere down the road. Wink

Chuckle.
This example is the type of luck that followed Coach Bryant's best teams.  A player makes a mistake, and it not only works out, but gives the offense a new wrinkle for their future.

One of my favorite Coach Bryant stories concerned his mistake in pregame warmups before an east-coast game.  Excuse my writing from memory:

It must have been about 1959-60.  According to his recollection, he miscalculated the time difference and took the team out an hour early.  By the time he realized the error, and nobody dared to correct him, the team was back in the locker room for final words from him.  He paced before them for 45 minutes, too embarrassed to admit the error.  Finally he just said, "Let's get 'em", and the team nearly tore the door off... won easily... and the press applauded his "strategy".  He said it was 6 months before he admitted his error (to Mary Harmon).  LOL.

I would like to see someone try to strip the ball from him. Their first challenge would be finging it.

I literally came out of my seat when I saw Jesse line up at fullback.  Dude is a beast with a serious mean streak!

I remember that story.  I read it in a book about Coach.  That is the reason for the "Let's Go!" I have under my avatar.

Really?  Cool.
I can't remember which book, but it was one of the early ones (1980s).
