One of the keys to recruiting, most coaches will say, is to find out who the parent is that will ultimately have the biggest influence on what college their son will pick. In the case of Clemson and No. 1 overall recruit Robert Nkemdiche, that may mean there's work to be done in convincing his mother that the Tigers are the team for the highly regarded defensive end.

"His decision is not final," Beverley Nkemdiche told ESPN. "He's just a teenager, and people are forgetting that. We had never discussed Clemson, and I am unhappy with Clemson. I'm not there, so I don't know for certain, but I feel like Robert was pressured into this decision."

Despite the assertion, Nkemdiche will visit different schools throughout the season. He has already visited Ole Miss, where his brother Denzel is a redshirt freshman linebacker, and plans to make a West Coast trip to visit USC and Oregon.

I wonder at times what these recruits mean when they say that they want what is best for them. When they come to vist the Bama campus, they see one of the best schools in the nation, by far the best football team, the greatest coach in college football who has the best coaching staff in college football, a wonderful city to live in, and to top it off they are offered a scholarship when they leave to go home.

They all say that their goal is to be highly rated in the NFL draft, well what the heck is missing in the above that would keep them from getting that chance. Some many of the recruits complain about how tough recruiting is on them, personally I think they make it tough on themselves. Wink

I can't argue with you, J.
Maybe they're not all as smart as us.

I've seen enough of the "hind sight" theory that it makes it a little easier for me now. Cheesy

I've thought since day one that RK would never go to Clemson. Might prove me wrong, but when Mama speks, I bet he listens.

Expect some Clemson sweetie to suddenly start chatting with him via twitter.  hth
