Question: How do you feel about that 40pt line? Bama rarely runs up the score & WK is not exactly Savannah State?

You know, before yesterday's rant from Saban, I was picking Western Kentucky to cover that spread with ease. I was picturing something like 38-10 or even 31-3. Now, I don't know. When Saban erupts like that, you've got to think the team got the message loud and clear and won't mess around. We'll see.

Brandon Ivory saw the field for a good chunk of Saturday's game and I'd expect him to do the same again Saturday. Maybe Wilson Love will get some playing time as well. At LB, I'd expect guys such as Jonathan Atchison, Tana Patrick, Anthony Orr, etc. to see some playing time. I'm not ready to predict playing time for freshmen who didn't see the field Saturday because they might have already decided to redshirt and we don't know about it yet.

The more, the merrier. Let them get that experience.

The fact of the matter is that you can put the fourth stringers out there, and call plays that pit our weaknesses (such as they are) against the hilltopper's strengths. But beyond that you can't do much to keep the score down without asking the players not to do their best, which CNS will never do. Anyone remember CNS's frustration against Ga State or maybe Ga Southern when we sent Lacy up the gut with no particular tricky blocking scheme and he scored. Saban was ranting and raving on the sideline because he couldn't figure out how not to score.

What about Arkansas?

Andrew Gribble:
I'll know more in the coming week, but there was a genuine sense that this could be the team that finally wins the SEC West before Petrino had his little motorcycle adventure. Because of the way Arkansas opens its seasons against easy opponents, we never really know much about them until the Alabama game. Tyler Wilson is an NFL QB, but he's missing many of his playmakers from last season. The return of Knile Davis should give the Hogs more balance. And I'm always going to question the defense.
