These folks at Penn State still don't get it. The blind loyalty would have made Hitler proud.

Some trustees complain that the NCAA used sanctions as an opportunity for university presidents to exact revenge: The Penn State Way of piling up victories while graduating players at the highest levels was something their own schools could not do.

"Mark Emmert showed himself to be a sanctimonious hypocrite," says Anthony Lubrano, a trustee who joined the board in July and is an unabashed Paterno supporter. "Joe Paterno had more integrity in his little finger than Emmert has in his whole body."

Too bad Paterno didn't show that integrity when it really counted.

This is a little off topic but why would any school hire Gene Marsh to represent them? Has he ever met with the NCAA come out with a positive result? I know he threw Bama under the bus.

LOL!! I was wondering the same thing. He sells himself as an NCAA "insider", but everyone he represents gets hammered. Now, he can proclaim that he saved Penn State from the death penalty.

I have to wonder , would PSU have been better off with an SMU type plenty
rather than what they received ? 
maybe ole cabin boy bussed rolled them too ? 

and why was he in the woods like that ? a little weird isn't it ?
or maybe not ?  but no toilet , no water ?  was he trying out for the
Geico caveman position ?

History will remember Erickson as the man who saved Penn State from itself. Had he fully consulted the BOT (and the Paterno family) their stupidity, denial, and intransigence would have gotten them four years of suspension. They are still not out of the woods. Appealing the decision or rescinding their agreement on the consent decree could land them in deeper trouble if the criminal or civil cases reveal wider or deeper problems while the NCAA case is still in deliberations. I think in this case, Marsh provided wise council in suggesting that the best defense was no defense.
