Summary of first 3 hours of DAY 2: except for Phil collapsing, Rory dropping 2 shots, and Snedeker -3 on the day, nobody is moving. The weather remains benign.

Unless Snedeker keeps playing well, the afternoon groupings will determine the leaders and likely winner.

The rough is getting matted down by the spectators, and those deep-rough lies of yesterday may be a thing of the past. The muddy conditions have led to this. Except in areas roped off (next to the fairway), when a player hits a wayward shot, he may be saved by the flattened rough.

Luke Donald just flew the green from 92 yards into a deep rough. Skulled it. He'll take "unplayable". He'll drop back from -2 to ...... E? Chance for a bogey, though (12' putt).

Brandt Snedeker has gone crazy. He's -9 now, hitting LONG putts.
He's 3 clear of the field and has plenty of holes to play.

The only hope of having a competitive OPEN now is that Snedeker is not driving well (14/31 fairways). Right now he's been VERY lucky with lies (see previous comment about rough being stomped down) and has sunk MANY long putts.

Snedeker hit one in the tall stuff greenside on 15. I just knew that would cost him a shot, but he pulls one out of his a...., well, he hit a spectacular shot to within a foot of the hole.

Phil finally at the 18th. He's +10 (just 20 shots back... LOL).

Snedeker had better give some back or this thing is over. I know it's early, but bad weather is bound to come; those with low scores have the advantage.
