I wonder why the Barn hasn't gone after him because he sure fits their criteria to play there, he wouldn't have to go to classes.  Wink

I'm surprised he hasn't tried to transfer before now. This has dragged on for too long. At least if he does transfer, that will eliminate question #2 from the questions you don't ask CNS.  Wink

I really don't think Carter was ever a part of the team, he was always trying to work himself into a position to be a part of the team and he never got there.

How much eligibility does he have left? He played one year at tOSU and another at JC. He was at Alabama doing something for two years. I think the rule is once you start college you have 5 years to complete 4 years eligibility. There are some exceptions like military duty, mormons can go on 2 year mission trips, hardship medical or family issues, etc. If he transfers again does he have to sit out another year even if he never played at Bama?

I don't think he ever made the roster at Bama, and there is no telling what he was doing.  So I doubt he has to sit out a year, but anyway, good riddance.

To my knowledge he was registered for school at some point in an attempt to become eligible. I don't know when he dropped out. Too bad it did not work out. As it turned out he was nothing but a distraction. I will be glad to see him move on.

Quick question. If he had transfered to the barn do you think they would have kept him off the field till he was cleared like we did?

According to the linked article, if NCAA gives him a waiver and he can play this year, then he can play two years.  I hope this works out for him.  Seems to me his dad had been trying has been involved in trying to get him straightened out.  We had no factual basis for thinking this is anything more than academics issues.  So if he can get that solved with FAU's ciriteria, get in school and play, then let him do it.

My guess is if he had been at the Barn they would have found a way to get him declared eligible.

Well don't you think the Auburn bunch would have done the illegal things to get him eligible. RTR!

yeah, if it's academics, and it probably is, then FAU might be a good fit for him.

He was never really a part of this team. We will be fine. I do wish him the best.

I guess he didn't want to major in sociology.

Or do anything else.
At least he gave our DBs a good workout, thanks to CNS's great planning.  Cheesy
