Could have something to do with the way the sun hits the turf.  Or could be due to availability of sod.  I would have thought they'd want it done earlier so the grass has a solid root system in time for the first game.

I spent hours (on several different threads) arguing on TS with the guys that insisted the south end zone grass would die when the expansion enclosed that end of the field. LOL
