See if this cheers you up. D**n Dodgers.

Because of their financial flexibility and willingness to take on money, the Dodgers present a number of possibilities if the Red Sox indeed prove willing to part with the 30-year-old Gonzalez, who is in the first season of a seven-year, $154 million contract.

ESPN is building it up, HL.

BTW, the Braves lost to the Giants again last night 5-3.  Sad

How many more injuries can the Braves handle? The team will collapse if this stuff doesn't stop right now. We have been so lucky with Medlen, Sheets, & Maholm stepping in and being solid.

I don't think this injury hurts the Braves in any way just hate to see Sheets get the injury. I think the Braves were already going to reduce the 6 man rotation to a 5 man rotation going into the month of September.

Sheets had really struggled in his last 4-5 starts and I'm pretty sure he would have been the pitcher taken off the 6 man rotation.

Finally, some good news for the Braves. The Nats have lost 4 in-a-row and the Braves gained 2 games in the standings. The Braves won 7-1 on Sunday. They trail by 4.5 games. Also, the Giants have passed the Dodgers and lead them by 2 games in the standings. There will be blood on the field when these guys tangle later in the month.

Well the Dodgers big trade went through, and Adrian Gonzalez hit a 3-run HR on the second pitch he saw in a Dodger uniform.  Yesterday we managed to leave 16...yes, 16...on base and lose to the lowly Marlins.

Thanks for taking a couple back from the Giants.

I've been watching/listening to baseball for over 40 years and I have NEVER heard of a team leaving 16 men on base. Leaving 10 or 11 is usually a disaster. I think I remember the Braves once leaving 13 men on base.

I'm not talking 2-out RISP LOB...just LOB at the end of an inning in general.  We eclipsed our mark of 15LOB from earlier in the year (a game we actually won with 5 runs).

For more on how you accomplish this feat - you get 11 hits (all singles) and 6 walks.  The amazing thing is that we only scored 2 even though we stole three bases and hit into no double plays.  That's all thanks to 2-17 hitting with RISP.

I have been watching the Braves since the 1960's. They have broken every bad record there is, but 16, that has to be like some kind of Gineses World Record. lol, I think we will be alright for the Braves will pull through this. RTR!

20 appears to the be record for LOB in a game.  The Braves managed to leave 18 on base against the Dodgers on June 23, 1986.
