GOOD MORNING, ALL.  Coffee  BAMA still #1

It's cool and (will be) sunny today after yesterday's overcast and drizzle.  Best of all, I've been invited to go bass fishing this Friday.  A buddy of mine lives on a lake, and he knows the bass there well.  He's already caught 8 over 6 pounds this fall.

Maybe Jamos can give me some tips for bass fishing.  Even though I grew up fishing bass, I'm a bit rusty on fishing plastic worms (Carolina rig or Texas rig??).

Have a great day.

You lucky dog! I may get to play golf Friday. It will turn cold after that. Catch a bunch!

Good morning folks.  Another beautiful day in store.  I have about four hours of training on how to use my employer's travel website... Hope that means they're gonna send me out on travel this coming year...

Naaa, I just get lucky once or twice a year (and not at all this year).  But Chech actually earned his good fortune...

I don't know if I have any good tips but fall fishing is the same as spring fishing color wise in my opinion. In the spring I use the yellows, whites, and greens that go along with habitat cover and in the fall I use the oranges and the reds that again go along with the fall color schemes. If you are in a boat and fishing the banks I would suggest the Texas rig as it is easier to cast and fish through the cover on the banks. I would use the Carolina rig out in the open water on humps or points with a short leader of 12-18 inches. Jigs with skirts, are also a fall favorite and again using the fall color schemes. Crank baits are a fall favorite as well, but that will depend on your depth of water that you have. Sounds like a fun trip awaiting, goods luck.

If I might add to Jamos' wisdom... I used to like slow-rolling a big spinnerbait (5/8-3/4 ounce) with huge willow leaf blades can draw some really nasty strikes from some really big bass in the fall.

4:20 and I'm wide awake (3:20 CST). Been working in my sleep the past few nights and am about tired of it.

Y'all talking about fishing has given me the jealous. Wish I could get out there with you, Chech. How'd you do yesterday?

I don't know about you guys, but I'm not sure what I'll be happiest about; the end of the political commercials, or the end of the Medicare Advantage commercials.

Y'all have a nice day!

Well, now I'm awake and 2 is gone back to bed!     Got my coffee and watching the (crappy) news.
Coffee

Thanks for the input, James and Nalt.  The fishing trip is Friday afternoon.  The water is so cool that I'll prolly use plastic worms in deep holes first, but also try some casting (from the boat) toward the shallows.  My guess is the bigger fish will be deep.  Carolina rig it is for that; maybe a jig and pig if that doesn't work.  I'm fishing as a guest, so I'll have to fish where he chooses.

My sleep is screwed up too.  I've always awakened early, usually about 5AM.  But the time change has me up at 3:30-4.  Ugh!  At least I'm retired and can take afternoon naps if needed.

Lots of local news about Mississippi State football.  Beating A&M has them dreaming of an upset.  Hopefully our team won't come out flat.  Gary Danielson suggested that LSU gave other teams the blueprint on how to stop Jalen Hurts (crash the ends and cut off the wide plays; don't take the fakes, play Jalen 1st).  He's partially right; the blueprint was successful.  Fortunately few other teams have the talent that LSU fields.

Well, I'm up again. Rough night. Went back to bed and the smoke detector started squealing. No smoke, no fire. Then it quit, but the damage to my sleep psyche is done.

Another very busy day in store for me today. Tomorrow should be lighter. Hoping for golf. Then early football on Saturday after a morning appointment. Looking forward to that.

Once again, y'all have a nice day!

Time change -- change batteries.  HTH

Walk out to your car and take a 2PM nap.  Should work.  Might help to park car at a golf course.
