I want to hear your worst Christmas gift ever.  I will start.

The first Christmas I was with my husband someone from his family got me a garden stake.  It was really cute and all but unfortunately they forgot to wash off the dirt when they pulled it up outta their yard.  I wanted to  Cry but I sucked it up.  I hate exchanging gifts with grown ups.  Can't we just all do it for the kids and buy ourselves what we want?

Some good friends of ours have gotten me a 50 gallon drum (ok, I exaggerate a bit) of E&J brandy, every year for the past 5 years. I made the mistake at the beginning of it all, of telling them I like brandy. Apparently someone told them that E&J was brandy. Ok, technically, it is....kinda like Natty Lite is technically considered beer. Bad thing is, I can't regift the stuff, so I've started my own swill brandy cabinet in the garage. If anybody wants a barrel bottle, pm me.

No, Natty Light is technically water. I've gotten more of a buzz off of Vitamin Water.

As for worst present ever, I got, at the age of 15 or so, a canister of peanut brittle. I don't even like the stuff to begin with, but giving that to a teenager? Are you trying to get your mailbox cherry bombed?

Yeah you can never tell people you like something.  You tell one person you like penguins and within 5 years your house looks like the south pole.  I guess the exception to that rule is telling folks you like money.

1) 1/2 of a pecan pie and then I found out who got the other half later

2) a bag of rotten Brazil nuts , I found out they were rotten by eating one

both gifts came from a employer so they also served as a Christmas bonus
that was a great two years

Well not to hog my own thread but...

this year a certain family member decides they will exchange gifts.  I'm shocked because my oldest child is 7 and they have only given the kids Christmas gifts once and they were wildly inappropriate...a 6 and up air cannon for 1 year olds.  Anyway, they informed my husband they had gotten me Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses.  I'm panicking because I don't want to have to buy them something that costs that much and I don't want somebody picking out eyewear for me.  Anyway, in the mail ...from ebay...come these ghetto fabulous bug eye glasses with a bling bling "DG" on the sides in huge diamond-ish lettering.  5 seconds later with the seller's name on the packaging I found out my "dolce and gabbana" sunglasses were 7.98 with $1.98 shipping.  I guess the DG was Dollar General.  Anyway, i'm just glad I can buy them a $30 restaurant gift card instead of a $100.  The hubby got a putter cover for his golf clubs (also on ebay) from them and it had a big  hole in it, pilling on the fleece, and all kinds of lint/string in the velcro.  Yup, it was used.  Why bother getting a gift?  Why can't we keep the status quo where we don't even pretend to want to exchange gifts???

You people should try being a little nicer to folks (employers) and this would not happen. You don't notice the rest of us complaining.

BTW, good story 2.  Applause E-Cred

I gave KupKake a new ironing board last year. She wasn't real happy. I think she might have wanted a new iron, but after I taped the cord on her old one it didn't shock her anymore.

Well at least you didn't break the rule of getting a woman something with a cord attached that she didn't ask for BUT I don't think the ironing board was what she was dreaming of  Smiley
