Prayer request

[MDB Tide Roll]

Please pray for my family, especially my Granny.  Monday would have been my Pap's 84th birthday.  He went home to the lord on November 19th last year and I know this is really the first special day that we'll really feel the loss.

I had this talk Friday with my Pastor
he told me that my loved ones are where we all want to be
with Jesus in Heaven and with God

although we miss them so bad we should find peace and rejoice in that is where they are

You know X, thinking about what you said reminded me of something I heard a pastor say. We, as Christians, have our hope in God, and while it is right to mourn when a loved one passes, it is really ourselves we mourn for because we will miss them. We do not mourn for them, because they are receiving their reward as we speak. They do not want us to be sad for them but to rejoice because they are enjoying the Father, something we will all do one day.

my Dad died , I was still pretty young and I guess I didn't understand how things work .
anyway I was mad at him for leaving me , so mad I wouldn't even visit his grave .
he left me with a stepmother that loved my dearly but I couldn't grasp it . I was though on her .
that went on for years , then my first wife died and that made things tougher for me .
we were married 4 1/2 years and had  planned to have kids when we got to the 5 year mark .
she didn't make it , her heart quit at 25 years old and all of a sudden she was gone .
I was to he point that I didn't want to be close to anyone because I figured they might die .

I finally figured out that my Dad and my wife didn't die on purpose , that's the
last thing they wanted to do ... now I'm pretty sure about that !
I figured out my stepmom lost a husband just like I lost a Dad , she was hurting as bad as I was .
some times I think they are looking over me because of the way things happen .

now I go to the graves and visit , talk to them and say things that I want them to know about
about my life , tell dad about his grand kids and tell both of them about my wife now .
I all ways feel better afterward , at peace sort of , like I was talking to God in a way .
thanks to my wife now I learned how to accept death but it wasn't easy for me .
she helped me understand that they are in a better place and we will be reunited one great day !
I consider myself pretty lucky now ...

sorry for the ramble ... losing a loved one ain't easy ... it's all in how you deal with it .
I remind myself that God won't put us through anything we can't endure .

You're exactly right.  It was a blessing when Pap passed because he was in pain and none of us wanted him to linger suffering.

I know he's in heaven right now leading a choir in song. 

But, I still cry every time I think about him and I really worry about Granny.  They were married for 63 years and still in love with each other. 

Actually, I've cried for years just thinking about losing him, every time I hear that Randy Travis song "He Walked on Water", I think about Pap and cry because it's true and says just what I feel.

I loved him and he loved me    and I thought he walked on water.

I know what you are talking about. Its a different song with me, though. I lost my mom when I was four years old. I wish I could remember her better than I do, though I have had a wonderful stepmother for the past 30 years. What gets me is at Christmas when I hear "The Christmas Shoes" by Newsong. I bawl like a child every time I hear it.

I talked to Granny today and she sounded okay.  This week is Spring Break for my nephew (he's 14) and Granny had him in the basement all day helping her clean it out.  Her coping mechanism is to keep busy, so Tyler will definitely be ready to go back to school on Monday.
