1.  According to Matt Zenitz of On3Sports, the Fighting Irish will promote defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman to head coach.

2.  Oklahoma is expected to begin its search for the next head coach. An early name in the running is Tennessee's Josh Heupel, who led the Volunteers to a 7-5 record in his first season with the program. Hupel is best known for his time as Oklahoma's starting QB in 2000.

BTW, the naming of Marcus Freeman as Head Coach at ND puts a dagger in LSU's hopes of having an easy transition into the new era.  Kelly must recruit all new coaches now, it seems.

Maybe he will get Pete Golding and Bill O'Brien. RTR!

ND will be making a mistake as they have in the past...remember Bob Davie replacing Lou Holtz...there are several head coaches elsewhere available that would keep them going in the right direction.

Well if ND doesn't win it would be their own fault. They could have gotten Bill O'Brien. RTR!

Dabo lost his DC and last year he lost one of his OC's. He's in big trouble in my opinion. Clemson could be looking at another 9-3 season. The offense was a disaster this year. How will the D look in a couple of years?

Recruiting.  But that took a hit with the new NIL (getting paid) rules, because Clemson's fan base and small-local population is less than most of the big football schools, making recruiting tougher.

Losing Venables is a huge blow to Clemson. Between the NIL situation and him leaving, they will have a hard time recovering.

I'm still trying to understand how anybody would leave Notre Dame to go to LSU of all places.  That is like leaving church on Sunday and driving straight over to see Lori (Destiny)
Boudreaux at Arety's Angels.

Laughing

Maybe Brian Kelly expects LSU to be full of good Catholics.  Not.  It's full of Catholic girls who return from Mardi Gras with a neck full of beads.
 Wink

Seriously, I'm guessing Kelly got tired of waiting for ND to join a conference.  So he took the money.

He probably thinks that the reason he hasn't won a national championship is because he was at Notre Dame and couldn't get enough good players.  I bet he hasn't considered that the reason he got as far as he did is because he was at Notre Dame and was constantly propped up by the media, at least until another media darling came along and beat them to steal their spot.

Sadly enough, it's no longer called Arety's Angels, um, according to a friend.

Well I can understand Riley running off but Kelley I don't understand because he can play a Cincy type schedule and get in the playoffs. Now at LSU he has to beat GA, Fla, TA&M and Alabama every year. It won't happen. RTR!

Do they call it "It's Rolling Baby!" now?
