Thank you guys for the stories about your lives and experience with wildlife.

Friday May 29, 2020.

Another great day in the park.  I drove through, as was legal, and was home well before noon (in time to wash my laundry).

Here is a beautiful Coyote sniffing the ground.

Here is the same photo with NALT's editing, showing the grieving family of Killdeer whose eggs are being ravaged by the Coyote:

Look, a rare photo of Moose!  Yes, 3 in one photo.

A black Gray Wolf watching from behind a tree.  He then ran into the trees.

A gray Gray Wolf lying beside Soda Butte Creek.  This is apparently wolf 1237M, a male of the Mollie's Pack.

More great pics, Chech. You've done much better since the coyote taking a dump.

Well done sir. The pics of the bears amaze me as how they don't seem scared at all. RTR!

Preacher, my camera magnifies the bears and wolves at 40X.  Your binoculars are likely 7X.  So the images are often seen in 40 times reality.  I'm not very close to the animals in most cases.  As you saw with the Mountain Goat, this camera and my scope have great magnification.  Once the animals get close or see they're being watched, they usually bolt away.

Great photos Chech.  Question for you though.  How can you tell if a black gray wolf is a gray wolf if it is black?  I definitely understand about the gray gray wolf.  That one makes sense.  But a "black" gray wolf?   Huh?

The species is called Gray Wolf.  Color morphs: black, gray, white.

Like Snow Geese: white or blue.

Saturday May 30, 2020.

In addition to the eagle above, I saw lots of cool animals today.  Enjoy.

This Moose visited my cabin.  This photo was taken through my glass door.  He stayed outside.

Saw the same white wolf (Mollie's Pack) that I saw a few days ago.  This time she performed.

Also saw this massive male wolf (also Mollie's Pack):

And this Gray wolf of the Junction Butte Pack:

And this Black wolf of the Junction Butte Pack:

I met a roadblock on the road to Gardiner:

Yeah, he was out there for almost an hour.  Would have stayed longer, but he'd already eaten everything green by then.

Sunday May 31, 2020

I drove to Gardiner today for groceries and gasoline.  On the drive through YNP I first encountered a fox (carrying something furry - mouse?) in the darkness along the roadside.  I waved at him.  Then I passed the area where I'd seen wolves.  It was 5:30am, so barely bright enough to see well.  The wolves there had been eating a moose (I heard from Park Rangers).  The big gray wolf was there again (# 1237M).  I waved at him as I went past.  He was in deep grass, tugging at the carcass.  Then lots of bison, pronghorn, and elk; bison blocked the road at several pacles.  While stopped once I took the photo below.  No other photos; day of rest!

This afternoon I saw that the local creek had swollen into a river.  It flooded the campground nearby.  I saw a Moose wading through the campground.  LOL

I like it as much upside-down:

June 1, 2020.  Long day in Yellowstone.

I watched bears and wolves for 13 hours today, and I'm worn out.  There are 18 puppies in the den where we usually watch wolves; 3 females sharing the den.  Too far away for good pics, but I got a couple just for you.
