WRONG!!! There are plenty of good coaches out there who would love to coach at Bama. We just have to find the right one. Coach C.M Newton was hired as head BB coach by Coach Paul Bryant in 1968. Bryant called Adolph Rupp & asked for a recommendation and he said Newton, who was head coach at Transylvania College. Not a high profile college but he did wonders at Bama. Ask for recommendations from Coach K, Roy Williams, Jim Boeheim, John Calapari, etc. They can even contact me at this site, if needed.

Finebaum will be saying more, I bet. The floodgates are about to burst on Coach Johnson and either his firing or quitting. Hope the AD is looking for a possible replacement.

Alabama is currently playing its way out of contention for an NCAA Tournament bid meaning the heat may be turning up in Tuscaloosa on Avery Johnson.

“There is an anxiety connected to (Johnson). I’ll say this — and I don’t think this is going to happen but I think the fact that it was even discussed means there is a little uncertainty among some people where I am here at NBA All-Star Weekend — there was talk that Avery’s people had put out some feelers with the New Orleans team about the vacancy at the GM position,” Finebaum said on the show.
