To show that this board is nonpartison:

Here is a great speech by a Democrat --- since we have 2 weeks to kill, this will send you down memory lane. 2 parts.

BO giving out candy after he has handed out trillions for 3 years! That is kinda ironic I would say!

Isn't that BO's economic adviser standing behind MO?

Liberal media all over Hermann Cain singing "Amazing Grace." They think he's a kook and they have their "gotcha moment". What they don't know is that we respect that as much as if he had recited the U.S. Constitution.

It is  a slow day in the small Saskatchewan   town  of Pumphandle and streets are deserted.

Times  are tough, everybody is in debt, and  everybody  is living on credit.

A  tourist visiting the area drives through town,  stops  at the motel, and lays a $100 bill on the  desk  saying he wants
to inspect the  rooms  upstairs to pick one for the night.

As  soon as he walks upstairs, the motel owner  grabs  the bill and runs next door to pay his debt  to  the butcher.

The  butcher takes the $100 and runs down  the  street to retire his debt to the pig farmer.

The  pig farmer takes the $100 and heads  off  to pay his bill to his supplier, the Co-op.

The  guy at the Co-op takes the $100 and  runs  to pay his debt to the local prostitute,  who  has also been
facing hard times and has had to  offer  her
"services" on credit.

The  hooker rushes to the hotel and pays  off  her room bill with the hotel owner.

The  hotel proprietor then places the $100  back  on the counter so the traveler will  not  suspect anything.

At  that moment the traveler comes down  the  stairs, states
that the rooms are not  satisfactory,  picks up
the $100 bill and leaves.

No  one produced anything.

No  one earned anything...

However,  the whole town is now out of debt  and  now looks to the future with a lot more  optimism.

And  that, ladies and gentlemen, is how a  "stimulus
package"  works.

Anyone up for a vacation? My luck-- end up being the only one ever caught and punished. BTW, I don't think anything here is criminal--I was just referring to welfare and welfare fraud in general.

It is not illegal because our government is run by a bunch of idiots who made it perfectly legal.  Angry

The Las Vegas casinos had the Katrina debit cards running "off the hook". Huh? The company I consult for has an account at a fairly nice Houston hotel. It is one for folks staying extended periods and includes a little kitchenette, ironing boards, and other utensils. 2 years or maybe closer to 3, there were people living in that hotel on the Katrina dime. Maybe we just misunderstand what role government is supposed to play in a person's life? Huh?

Joe Paterno was, at one time, a good conservative. He said he voted for Obama and, as I recall, raised or gave money to Obama. Now I'm not saying that ALL liberals are pedaphiles or pedaphile enablers,...I'll let you draw your own conclusions on that.
