"ATLANTA -- Alabama enjoyed a first-round bye Thursday as the Southeastern Conference tournament started at the Georgia Dome.


The Crimson Tide (20-10, 12-4 in the SEC) meets Georgia (21-10, 9-7) at noon CST Friday. Alabama defeated the Bulldogs 65-57 Saturday at Coleman Coliseum.

NCAA tournament? Tide just focused on beating Bulldogs, again

"ATLANTA -- Don't ask Anthony Grant about yesterday. Don't talk to Alabama's second-year basketball coach about tomorrow.


His team meets Georgia at noon CST today in the Georgia Dome in the second round of the Southeastern Conference tournament. The Bulldogs (21-10) defeated Auburn 69-51 Thursday.

Never mind that the Crimson Tide (20-10) defeated Georgia 65-57 last Saturday. Forget about talk that this is a play-in game for an NCAA tournament at-large berth.

"That's speculation for you guys and everybody else," Grant said Thursday before a practice at Morehouse College. "We can't worry about that. We can worry about today, the things we can control.""
