Thompson product de-committed from Miami with UA lurking. Fegans didn’t wait long to announce his intentions to roll with the Tide.

Former Alabama great Dre Kirkpatrick is busy helping the San Francisco 49ers defense this fall while his son Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. is finding his footing on the recruiting trail. The 2024 defensive back from Gadsden (Ala.) Gadsden City was in Tuscaloosa this past weekend for an unofficial visit, as his recruitment appears set to take off in the coming months.

“It’s going good,” Kirkpatrick Jr. told BamaOnLine. “It’s really Alabama and Auburn, they’re trying to recruit me hard right now.”

I was on injured reserve before I was on injured reserve. 

Jamos called me Thursday. We had a nice long conversation. He seems to be doing well and still staying active. Mrs J has picked golf and has apparently left him in the dust. 

He said there are a lot of new faces on the softball team. He said they are great defensively but need some work on the bats. Pitching will be deep this year. Might be another good year.

They had a Red Elephant club meeting the other night and the guest speaker was Dr. Matt Rhea, one half of the strength and conditioning duo. Jamos said he was extremely impressed with him. He's heavy into the science of what the players bodies do. At the end of every practice, Saban asks for the data, which is captured electronically on a device. Cool stuff.

He asked about you and I said, "Who?"

Coming off a summer and fall visit, five-star small forward Brandon Miller has committed to Alabama over Kansas, Tennessee State, and the professional route. The Antioch (Tenn.) Cane Ridge product — a Crimson Tide legacy (his dad, Darrell, played football under Gene Stallings) — announced his decision on Monday afternoon on CBS Sports HQ. He’s the second commitment in Nate Oats and company’s class, both of which are five-stars.
