Bama baseball has lost three games this year all by the same score of 2-1.

Baseball lost to Southern Miss 2-1. 

Apparently our bats were cold and windy. 

The bats were dead for both teams. Each had 7 hits. There was only one earned run in the game.

We left 10 men on base. 


Southern Miss was swept by LA Fafayette last weekend. We have a tough series coming up.

The key to winning baseball is pitching and timely hitting. I am excited about our team but especially in seeing the development of clutch hitting. Plus, I am so proud of our university sports programs, especially gymnastics, softball, golf, women's basketball, football and more.

 I moved the posts about the Auburn Women's game to it's own thread. I never imagined it was going to be more than a post or two when I started talking about it in the Sports Open Thread.

The baseball team plays the first game tonight, of a 3 game series against ULL, the #10 ranked team in the country. I was there this weekend and they have a nice facility. I was impressed with their football stadium and basketball arena, as well. Very nice campus.

I hope the pitching stays solid and our bats heat up. Would be great to take the first game and get off to a great start.

After a disappointing mid-week loss to Southern Miss we need to take 2 games in this series. Going 2-2 this week would be good IMO.

ULL has some good bats. They lead the nation in HR's last year and 8 players in the batting order return. Even with good pitching and defense we will need to score in bunches.

No. 10 Women's Tennis Blanks Mississippi State, 4-0, to Open SEC Play

This is another Alabama program that is getting better and gaining national attention.

The 10th-ranked women's tennis team started of its Southeastern Conference season with a bang, beating Mississippi State, 4-0, on Friday. With the win, the Crimson Tide lifts its season standings to 9-2, while the loss drops the Bulldogs to 8-3 overall.
