I bet he left for better pay and facilities. I can't blame him.

facilities, you might argue as we gave him a facilities upgrade already.PAY,you cannot. LSU offered him somewhere between 2 and 3 hundred thousand bucks, and bama countered and matched it. Just tells me he wanted to go home

He's not from Louisiana, he's from Iowa.

Yes I know, but it's widely known he got his start in Louisiana under a newly retired coach. Just think it stands to reason he would call it home as some already say. I think had he been offered a job in Iowa,it would have had same results. He just wasn't happy in bama, even with his results. Great coach and hate to lose him

LSU is a good school and they have a very good athletic programs and facilities. But it is located in cesspool. Have you ever been to Baton Rouge? I don't know why anybody would choose to live there.

I've spent a lot of time there and agree. Other than the food, BR sucks.

Better pay maybe. I thought Bama's softball stadium, out near highway 82 was rather new, or newly renovated in last 10 years or so. I have no idea about coaches offices and other facilities.

 Cool

 Cool

Bama Softball complex is very nice. LSU just opened a new complex in 2009. It is very nice and it is newer. They are both one of the top softball facilities in the country. I don't think it was pay or facilities. Maybe he was ready for a change or a new challenge.

Murphy was a good coach and he will be missed. He left the program in great shape. Mal Moore has to make another home run hire like he did with Saban and Grant. With the right hire our program has a vey bright future. It is a very desirable job and CMM should not have trouble finding a good coach.

I understand the money situation, and I even understand wanting a new challenge. I guess it just stings a little more knowing that CPM is going to the Who. I wonder how much of a fight CMM and the rest of the athletic department put up to try and keep him here. Well, regardless, I hope we are able to nab a coach with some pedigree to lead this program. We have taken giant steps forward under CPM, now we need someone who can finally put us over the top.

CPM left the program in good shape, now it's time for CMM to go find a coach that understands Bama sports and what it takes to be a coach here, no matter what sport it is.

Loyalty ain't what it used to be.

And the row of refineries next to Baton Rouge are nicknamed "cancer alley."

The food is good as 2Stater pointed out. I hate everything else about BR.

He left his job unfinished. Perhaps after 2 disappointing finishes in a row, it may be time for a change.

He has set high standards. Two disappointing finishes in a row were losses in a super regional and in the WCWS.

He left the program in good shape. It is an important hire for CMM. He should be able to lure a top coach with all we have to offer.

I don't like it when good coaches leave to go to another college program, especially if the other school is in the SEC. I want to beat Murphy' purple LSU azz next year.  Angry
