Alabama-Penn State football game to kick off at 2:30 p.m. on ABC

I am not a fan of either Gary or Vern. I can go as far as saying that I HATE having CBS cover our games because of those two.  Gary may know his stuff but I still can't stand him!

One question though - WHY doesn't Alabama have times for ALL of their games set before a few weeks into the season? I mean, Nebraska has ALL their times and channels lined up. Every game is on TV with a time posted.  We don't have most of our game times til sometime during the season.  Just wondering

We don't even know which networks will be carrying most games, and that is who decides when the games will be played.

It all has to do with TV. The SEC get big $$$ for their TV package. CBS, ESPN, etc wait as long as they can to make sure they get the best game possible. They want the hot, national rated teams on as much as possible.

I wonder if the local ABC channel will finally upgrade to 1080p this year.  Their HD is only 720p, but then again so is ESPN, so it might be the network feed.  CBS is in 1080p, but they have Verne and Gary.

IMO the ESPN broadcast always looks better than CBS, even at the lower resolution.  And are you sure that CBS isn't using 1080i (I haven't paid attention, just asking)?

You're right.  I just checked and it is 1080i.  Sorry about that.  So I guess that is really more like 540p.

If you get on TV with a sign I will up it to 500.  But you have to post a pic of the sign before the broadcast so we know it is you.
