I will tell you a home remedy that works but use it only for colds and flu's.
Get a pint of moonshine, and mix it with some honey and lemon. Take 2 table spoons full every 4 hours. This will make you sleep and sweat. Cover up with Quilts and lay down, you will sweat like a horse but it will  bring out the cold in the sweat and the lungs will open up for some good breathing. RTR!

Preacher, I've found that this recipe works very well without the honey and lemon.

  Brother Leewillie you know this was for medicinal purposes.  I was told by a friend one time, he was really sick and he tried the concoction and he said I forgot all about my flu.  , RTR!
