need a lil' help please on a sale question

we sold a guy a four wheeler ... this was about 3-4 weeks ago
he paid us the full amount and said he would be back in 2 days to get it

well it's going on a month or better and we can't get in touch with him
he hasn't been back or called either
the whole reason for the sale was to get it out of our garage

anyone know how long I have to wait on him legally to return ?

Have him search the jail database when you talk to him. 

If something happened to him, I'm sure his family would like to have the money back.

still no word from this guy , and still not sure what happened to him
he does't seem to be incarcerated that we can find

unless he is in one of the other hospitals besides the one I have
inside access to , we don't have a clue on his whereabouts ...

If you give up on him and can't find him, you can always sell it again to get it out of your way and then hold the money for him to give him a refund if he ever comes back around.  That's about the best you can do, and he really could not hope for anything more given the circumstances.  I'm sure he would be fine with it if he got his money back.

no I haven't 2 , kind of afraid I'm in them  

SC , that's what we plan to do , 30 days is up and that is
what I was told to wait , if/when he comes back I'll fork over the
next guys money to the first guy ...
if he has a problem with it I'm sorry but he was supposed to be back
in two days , as the wife says "I ain't a mini storage" ... thanks guys !  

anyway , if I charged the guy by the word for the flack I've taken from
a certain lady (errr .. my wife) he would owe me about a killzillion bucks !

I'm no lawyer (where's TPLAW when you need her?) but, you might be required to run an ad in the newspaper a certain amount of times before you can sell it again to someone else.  It would be worth your time to check on that and you could probably get a free, one-time consultation with an attorney if you asked.
