Tommie Frazier must be a crack head.
I was living in Nebraska in the late 80's/early 90's. Nebraska would walk through the old Big 8 without even a close game. Oklahoma was down in those years so Colorado was the toughest game they had all year. They would go undefeated and go to the Orange Bowl and get beat every year, usually by Miami. Nebraska was all offense at that time.
In 92 Alabama beat the tar out of Miami for the National Championship and Tom Osborne took notice. Our team had a solid running game that could keep the ball, move the chains and use the clock but we where rock solid on defense. Nebraska's defense had size but were Big 10 slow. Osborne visited Gene Stallings in Tuscaloosa and started recruiting defensive speed after that meeting and went on a nice run.
In fairness to Tommy Frazier they were the best of his era and I would say the same thing if I were in his shoes. You can not compare different eras/decades. The late 70's and early 60's Alabama teams would tell you they were the best of all time.
