Quote
On a very cold November night while on his beat, Officer Larry DePrimo gave the man a pair of all-weather boots and thermal socks after discovering he had none. The homeless man was walking barefoot as this officer said his own feet were cold in the boots he was wearing. He said he couldn't imagine what the pavement felt left without shoes or even socks on.

So many times only the negative stories come out about police officers, what a great story of the kindness from an officer on his beat. Thank You Officer DePrimo!!!

Awesome! Thank You Officer DePrimo! Applause E-Cred

Great story. I wonder if anything has been done to get the person off the street.

Yes that's too bad.

Also, Wolf Blitzer interviewed the man's brother (who looked like a normal middle class person) who said that family and friends have done all they could over the past few years to help him off the streets, and to encourage him to change his life....but he has no interest in helping himself or changing anything.

Blitzer said that he is baffled why such a big thing is being made of an act of kindness.  Is kindness towards others so rare these days?

Applause E-Cred this story deserves even more than an e-cred.

Yes it is sometimes. We just don't have time to stop and help or we worry the guy jumping us and trying to kill or steal. RTR!

To quote W. H. Auden:

"We are here on Earth to do good to others. What the others are here for, I don't know."
