Missed the playoffs by  the slimmest of margins in 2 games where we lost them both on the last play of the game.

Well, now it's time to sit back and watch Coach Saban build next year's team.  Hopefully the upcoming practices will be productive; a sort of mini-spring practice.

He might need to start by plugging the outgoing hole in the transfer portal. I really hope we don't lose Ty Simpson. Milroe is one he!! of an athlete but he can't carry this team IMO.

If we lose Ty Simpson it's because Saban told him Bama was going to recruit a portal QB.  I have no information about Ty since his recruitment, but if he couldn't beat out Milroe this year he probably isn't worth the investment as a future starter.  Should be interesting for the next month.

The portal has completely changed QB development for top schools.  Unless a true freshman has incredible skills, a portal QB with experience is a better investment.

Well, I bought my popcorn yesterday, so I'll be watching the developments.

The real question is 'WHICH STARTING QBs ARE OUT THERE READY TO TRANSFER'?
The only one we think we know is at Clemson.  He's big, he's strong, but something is missing if he can't win at Clemson.  Who else?

College football's transfer portal won't officially open until Dec. 5, but when it does, quarterbacks will receive the most attention as teams try to address the most important position on the field. Just how prominent are transfers at quarterback? Roughly half of FBS teams started a transfer under center in '22. Although the list of names in the portal is small (but growing) right now, there are a few intriguing names to watch at quarterback. Phil Jurkovec (Boston College), Brennan Armstrong (Virginia), Jeff Sims (Georgia Tech), Hudson Card (Texas) and former Boise State signal-caller Hank Bachmeier are some of the top options now in the portal, with experienced Power 5 transfers in Jack Tuttle (Indiana) and Brendon Lewis (Colorado) also looking for a new program.

I can't help but wonder how many times similar comments were made about Mac Jones.

Mac was called a game manager but I thought he was a good player. RTR!

He was  a GREAT player for Bama.  He just had to "ride the pine" for a few years before he got the opportunity to shine.

We've had rain for 36 hours straight.  I walked on the treadmill yesterday, and used an umbrella to take the garbage can to the street last night.  The rain gauge is filling.  Glad we live atop a hill.  Bored yet??
