Happy New Year!  Roll Tide!  I hope we're up to beating the Dawgs twice, but it sure looks like Georgia is pissed.

I don't think ESPN should be allowed to buy up the CFP games, thereby causing many people to miss seeing them.

That is their business model. They pay up to get sports programming people want to see. In return you have to purchase their services. Years ago, they expanded it to include ESPN 2 and more recently the SEC Network and ESPNU. I cannot do without any of those networks. I rarely watch the others like ESPN News.

Have you tried their streaming option? They are much less expensive and work well if you have high speed internet.

I have high speed internet and ESPN but know people who don't. I also enjoy SEC games on CBS Sports and all are free.

I want ESPN to be successful. I watch more sports on the ESPN networks than all "major" networks combined. ESPN is by far the best source for all non-football college sports. I would hate to go back to the pre-ESPN days when Bama football was only on TV a few times a year.

HOME FINALLY

This was the view through our car windowshield last night in Tupelo, Mississippi.

Awoke Sunday morning to a snow forecast in Charlottesville, VA.  We'd planed to leave Monday, but packed and left Sunday.  So by 8am we were in the car headed south.  It rained all through Knoxville, then we turned south to avoid snow and ice in Nashville.  As expected we got in a traffic blockage in Chattanooga, but after a 45-minute delay we were rolling again.  We hit snow about dark somewhere near Huntsville, and heavy snow in Red Bay, AL.  It was icing issues on our windshield by then, very dark outside, and the radar sensors were iced, so we had no cruise control.  I drove the last 1.5 hours without cruise control, and in crazy traffic.  Got to Oxford in time to see an accident on an iced overpass, and followed the sand trucks to our house.  Whew!

We got what appears to be 5-6 inches of snow just north of Huntsville.

Lot more of the white stuff than I expected to see this morning when the sun lit up the place.

Huntsville got more than Decatur. We got about 2-3" which was more than I expected. It was 80 degrees on Saturday.
