Well, you are in Alaska, so.........

Anybody heard from Preacher lately? He hasn't been on since Thursday and he wasn't even in the in-game thread.  Undecided
I thought I seen him logged on before the game on Saturday Huh? Huh?

Thanks 57. Maybe he's just not feeling well.

Good bitter cold morning folks.  At least it isn't snowing.  I hope Preacher is ok.  A buddy of mine that lives in Kodiak is over here in Anchorage doing some work and on Saturday he was my tour guide.  We drove over to Girdwood hoping to see the tidal bore along the way.  We missed it but were fortunate enough  to get to see several Beluga whales breaching the surface of the water to get breaths of air.  The scenery driving along that inlet was absolutely breathtaking.

Also, earlier in the day I made a drive over to Kincaid park where I saw this bull moose.  He was so quiet walking along that he seemed to just appear out of nowhere.

We also drove through a tunnel to go over to Whittier.  The tunnel is ~2.5 miles long.  The scenery over there was just as spectacular.  We were even able to see a couple of different glaciers while in Whittier.

We stopped at a gallery while going to Girdwood where the artist does chainsaw carvings.  The guy is incredible.  Here are a few of his works.

And here is a panoramic picture that I took from the side of the road driving along the inlet.

Glad you are ok Preacher.  Very sorry about your losses.

The wood carver was incredible.  He had a carving of an octopus hanging from the ceiling inside the gallery.  It was really big and priced at only $16,500.  I'm not sure how much he wanted for the wolfe.  It was really pretty though.  He also did a life-size carving of a bull moose.  It was standing outside in the area where he does his work and a MASSIVE live bull moose came in the yard ready to defend his cows.  He destroyed the carving so the artist is in the process of repairing it.  I'll see if I can find those pics.

The wood carver is the son of a guy that builds log cabins. The building housing the gallery is a log structure built using some massive logs. Absolutely beautiful. He (the father) also made this table and several others they have in the gallery.

I'm not sure if the father or son built this bed but it is really nice too.

And the carver is in the process of rebuilding this life-size bull moose. He has to rebuild it because a real life bull moose took offense to the carving thinking it was a rival moving in to service some of his cows so he eliminated the competition. lol

And he found a very large burl that he has a bear carving started.

Good morning to all!  Another chilly morning...feels refreshing after all those swampy humid mornings of 74 degrees at 5am.
