Well good morning all. I hope it warms for ya 2. NALT and I are having a great winter by freezing, lol. HL you need to catch up on our recruits and keep them going. Chechem I figured you for lining up a knife or gun show this weekend.
I have been taught by the great grasshopper about recruiting. CNS usually gets who he wants and fills his positions rather quietly until they become 5*'s on the field of play. So I am just a little bit mellowed on the LOI's and now I said a little. lol, RTR!

Good morning, Ricky.  I haven't caught up to anybody in a long time.  I'm a little over my playing weight.

Heavy rain woke me up this morning. Thank heavens it will melt the remainder of the snow. Snow just gets down right ugly after a while. Will be headed for Pensacola in the morning, so I won’t have to worry about snow for a while.

For all of you traveling over the holidays, be safe!

We had heavy rain overnight also, 2.  Rain started yesterday afternoon; still raining now.

Hey, don't forget to enter your picks.  Bowl games start tomorrow.

Lots of chatter about our new analyst: DJ Durkin.  Finebaum was all over it with his displeasure.  We'll see.

I made my picks the other day, Chech, so y’all can go ahead and take a look at them and have yourself a chuckle.

Yep, the fallout is pretty heavy over Durkin. I don’t think most people really know everything that happened concerning the death of the player. There’s some talk about the player not following hydration protocols and some such, but even if Durkin may not have played a part in it, the collateral damage has taken him down, since he was the head coach. The responsibility falls on him.

Since I’m one of those people that don’t know the whole story, I’ll reserve judgement. What I do know, is that Maryland was going to keep him as head coach until all the fallout from the public. That tells me something there.

But yes, the recruiting aspect concerns me too, if he gets hired. Right now, it just looks like he is doing some consulting.

I don't think Durkin will have ANY effect on recruiting (effect is a noun, Ricky; affect usually a verb).  Unless the Boog press stirs it, NO ISSUE.

BTW, I think practice for the bowl begins today for Bama.  I'd earlier been told it's Dec 15th, but now I'm told it's the 14th.

I nearly had a heart attack when I got to the office this morning. I had 2 gift cards and Christmas cards that I bought for my office manager and recruiter. I had put them on the floor next to my computer bag, and apparently too close to the waste basket.

It was gone. I nearly panicked. I ended up going to the dumpsters, in the rain, and happened to recognize a Bojangles drinking cup that I had thrown away, through one of the white trash bags. I opened it up, and there was the bag with the cards in them. I was very lucky. There will be words with the cleaning crew, however.  Angry

Laughing well glad you found them cards 2. Just smile now.
Hey Chechem, cause and effect can happen also cause and affect can happen so we have to wait and see.
It has rained a lot here and my back says it is really wet around the area. Glad bowls games are getting started that means we are step closer to my Spring time weather. Ya'll have a Blessed day everybody. RTR!

Morning gents. Overcast and rainy in central Maryland, though going to be warmer this weekend. Good Saturday to stay in and watch the first few bowl games.

I see Durkin is a big topic of conversation. I don't everything, but from what I gather from local media, it was all about the captain of the ship not knowing all the goings on underneath him. No one blamed DJ directly for Jordan's death, but it was more about lack of control, especially with his strength and conditioning coach, who seems to be the main culprit. The University really sat on this for awhile, which I don't get at all. After the investigation, the UM Board of Regents were going to allow him to return, with only strength and conditioning staff getting canned. That did not sit well with many students, alums, and the general public. Either a day or two days after the Regents made their findings public, the UM president went against their recommendation and fired Durkin (funny thing is, the president is stepping down in the late spring). The head of the Board of Regents resigned as well. Somehow, though, the athletic director still has a job.

I don't know if Durkin was as at much at fault as lower members of his staff, but the term that keeps being thrown around up here was "culture," implying that the coaching staff had instilled an overly macho sense in the locker room that didn't allow for players to take precautions during practices because this would have been viewed as "weak". And because DJ was the head man, he has to be responsible for all this, according to this view of things.

Good morning folks.  I was working out and about yesterday hauling stuff.  Back in the office today though.  I guess the return of rain today makes being in the office better than being out and about... Safe travels tomorrow 2.  Also glad you were able to locate those gift cards...

It's a wet and sloppy day in the Tennessee Valley.  I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend.  Oh wait, I have to do Christmas shopping.   Angry

I'm glad all the nieces and nephews are at the age where they just want cash.  I'm also glad that the two nephews who graduate college in the coming year will be enjoying their last Christmas donation from the Uncle Hannibal fund.    Wink
