Good Sunday morning!

Man, was it hot yesterday. I didn't play as well as I did Thursday, but I'm not complaining. It was just great to get out, even though my wallet's a little lighter.

Looks like the British Open is Speith's to lose. Kutchar looking good too. I'd be happy with either one winning.

Preacher, I'm glad Mrs Dottie was doing better yesterday. If she can just hang in there until the surgery, she'll be good to go,

Sorry you lost $$ yesterday, but at least you're back out there enjoying the course again.

Just watching golf today.  And having my coffee.

Good morning, Chech. I'm guessing the coffee shop was lit up with conversation yesterday, no? All the conversation around here is that the NCAA will probably bungle the Ole Miss situation like they did Miami.

Yeah, thanks for the reminder.
Much of the chatter was blaming the media for scrutiny or blaming other teams.

1. Several people got off on the 'blame Houston Nutt for turning them in'.  Really?  Said I, "So Houston was whoring around with Freeze, then decided to turn him in?"

2.  One guy was convinced that 'Alabama turned in Ole Miss'.  I reminded him that I went to Alabama, then gave my standard answer: "So if you get caught speeding you blame the cop?"  If Ole Miss was paying players, nobody was guilty but Ole Miss.  The cell-phone-whore story grew out of that.  He said: "Everybody knows Alabama cheats, but the NCAA protects them."  RIGHT!

3.  General consensus: Hugh Freeze wasn't the squeaky-clean guy that he portrayed himself to be.  As many thought, he was a classic hypocrite.  He lied to his wife, family and the Ole Miss folks.  He may not have been as slimy as Tuberville, but close.  Either way, Ole Miss will suffer as a result.

4.  Apparently Freeze was scheduled for a broadcast with a charity on Wednesday, then suddenly cancelled it.  That was when he learned that he was being fired (one day before the announcement).  It took Ole Miss 24 hours to come up with a public announcement that put all blame on Freeze.

Thanks for the skinny. Cracks me up that everybody outside of Tuscaloosa thinks Bama cheats. No, many of the others cheat trying to match the success of Bama, and Ole Miss got busted for it.

True.
As per penalties, the NCAA won't deal with Ole Miss until late August.  That's when OM presents their "we've surgically removed the problems and wish to continue with just the self-imposed penalties".

I expect the NCAA to accept that, with just minor additional penalties.  The NCAA got their wish: the head coach removed.  Most people at the coffee shop thought the same thing.  The NCAA hasn't been as aggressive lately as they were 15 years ago.

Good morning folks.  It was hot yesterday, REAL hot.  My youngest daughter and I got Dad's yard mowed regardless but it took longer than expected. By the time I got home I was exhausted from the heat.  Still feeling some of the fatigue this morning actually.

Hydrating possibly kept me from overheating.  I was also wearing a dark green shirt which probably didn't help matters.   Embarrassed

BTW, I returned the arrow to the kid across the street yesterday.

His Dad: "How could that be?  He only shoots at targets.
Me: "Well, the arrow was vertical and nose down.  Obviously it was shot high, and landed against my house."
His Dad: "Must have been someone else."
Kid: "No, that looks like my arrow."
Me: "Don't shoot them toward my house again."

Pissed me that his Dad wouldn't let him take responsibility.  Protecting your kid from responsibility isn't good parenting.
