I don't think she could very well call him "Pickles".

Our Preacher's nickname is ... "Kosher"??

I don't know about if she could not call me pickles or not?  , She was praying for me one time and I heard her call me "The Lazy One" before the Lord.  Tinfoil Hat, RTR!

Good morning.  Coffee

Finally, cooler weather is here.  Northerly winds and overnight temperatures tonight in the upper 50s!!

***BIRD ALERT***

We have a weird bird in our yard.  It's a "leucistic pileated woodpecker" (partial albino).  So far I've only managed a couple of poor-quality photos.  We've seen it 3 times during the past 2 days:

It's supposed to look like this (when a real photographer sees it):

Nice find on the woodpecker, Chech.

What is this "cooler temps" you speak of?

Looking at our extended forecast, we will be going from the mid to high 90's, to the low 90's and upper 80's by next week, At night, from the low 80's to the mid 70's. Must be an Arctic front.

It's 68 outside here now, and my back door is open (listening for the woodpecker cackle).  Hope the cool air reaches everyone.

Especially you, Preacher!!

Thank you Chechem. Hey that is a really purty woodpecker. We got them redheaded black ones over here and they give our dead trees fits. We use to have our Hummingbird feeders up but we quit putting them up. I think after seeing your picture I will put them back up. RTR!

Interesting bird.  Over the years, I've seen one pileated woodpecker in my back yard (and another along Hurricane Creek), and a couple of albino birds, but this bird of yours must be very rare.

Coffee

I'm up watching the Perseid Meteor Shower.
So far it's been 3 ZIPS and one STREAK of meteors.  Better than a normal night, but not a "shower"!

4AM update:
I saw 4 ZIPS, 2 STREAKS, and 2 SATELLITES in 10 minutes.

5AM update:

Taurus is up higher, and Orion is up now.  Only saw one STREAK in 5 minutes.  Daylight is on the horizon.

Mrs. J and I got up at 3:45 and saw maybe a dozen streaks but saw plenty of airplanes. Big disappointment. Sad

I saw ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ's

We actually had cloudy skies, plus with my proximity to the city, would have seen little or nothing due to the city light noise.

23 days til I can watch something that won't be affected by light noise!

Mrs 2 and I will be flying to Chicago for the weekend, this morning, for our anniversary (which was August 1st). Any messages you would like for me to pass along to Rahm?
