Bison grazing in the Lamar Valley.  This was near 'Roosevelt', where Teddy Roosevelt camped during 1903.  He fished while there, and I had hoped to catch some Cutthroat Trout in Slough Creek, but (alas) the water was high from snow melt.  Maybe next week!

Yesterday afternoon, while fishing, I heard these 2 Sandhill Cranes squawking loudly.  As I watched, a coyote approached them and they moved about 100 yards away.  The coyote worked the area where they'd been, apparently looking for a nest and eggs.  They weren't nesting; I saw them about a mile west of there the previous day.



Here's the coyote.  He wouldn't pose, it was pretty far away, and I was busy fishing anyhow!

Morning all.

For the first time in a few days,things seem to be getting back to a more normal way of life since Mrs. J had her accident. She is feeling much better and we are trying to get her into her normal daily activities but she still isn't quite 100% but she is gaining on that. Her shoulder and neck injury turned out to be what we had hoped for, a deep bruise in her shoulder and a bad strain of the neck. We are so blessed as to what the injuries could have been. Thanks again to all of you for your thoughts and prayers, they do make a difference.

Chech, I've been enjoying the pictures and info of your trip, thanks for sharing.  

Congrats to Bamaphil and Mrs. BP on the birth of their new daughter, hope everything is going well for both.

2, sounds like you and Mrs. 2 have been having some fun lately in the casinos. How is your injury doing, hope the Dr has had some success.

Very glad to hear that Mrs J is doing so much better! I know that puts your mind at ease, J.

I'm improving. Been having a steady diet of Chiropractor and massage therapy. He said I could hit a bucket of balls yesterday and if there were no complications, I could play Sunday. I have an 11:15 AM tee time with my golf buddies tomorrow morning.

Caught a good-sized Brown Trout at 9:20 PM (just like last night).  They must feed all night.  Hmmm.



Also caught a bunch of small Rainbow Trout during the day.  The scenery is great!

Oops, forgot a fun pic.  On the drive home (at dark) I saw a herd of elk with babies in the stream.  The babies were wading at first, then started playing; running around and making a bleating sound.  Fun.  Too dark for pics, but I tried:

Church services this morning, and some O's baseball on the tube this afternoon. 2, be careful shooting those golfs out there today. Beautiful scenery you have been posting, Chech. It is going to be a long slow summer sports wise. The most active thread in the Quad is Jimbo Splits From Wife.  So far not much interest in the CWS.
