I saw on another forum where the Bama ladies beat Auburn in gymnastics tonight. No link and I can't find one. If true, the streak is still alive.

WOOOOOOT!

It's going to be a beautiful day here; 60 degrees.  Enjoy it!

Morning Chech. It will be in the 60's in Gulf Shores today, too. Mr & Mrs J are heading that way now. Mrs 2 and I will be leaving later this morning. Wish you and LF could make it down, but have fun at the gun show. I hope you make a good find, and sell a lot.

We had a great day in Gulf Shores with Mr & Mrs J. A wonderful lunch with the Alumni Assoc at DeSoto's Seafood Kitchen, and then watched Bama completely dismantle Fl Gulf Coast Univ, 13-1 in 5 innings. I'll let J give the game report, which will probably be in the morning.

Looks like the softball team is VERY talented.  Hopefully LF and I will get a chance to see them this year.

BEAUTIFUL day today, so get out and enjoy it.

Whew, what a day it was for Mrs. J and me as we drove to Gulf Shores and back Saturday but in between the two two trips we had lots of fun. It was the first time that the two of us had been there in quite some time and I was just amazed at how everything had changed so much. I never knew when we left Foley going toward Gulf Shores because they are are connected now with businesses.

The sports complex that hosted the tournament was very impressive with 4 softball fields that backed up to each other and the Baseball and football fields for the local high school. I'm sure there were more facilities that we didn't see, very impressive.

Getting to spend the time with 2 and Mrs.2 was a blast and I wish all of you could have been there with us. As always, when we go to the softball games we meet new friends and yesterday was no exception. When walking in to get tickets I noticed a car with an Iowa license plate and asked the people where they were from in Iowa and that led to an interest discussion between all of us. They were good friends with Coach Pat Murphy and his family and actually the gentleman had coached against Pat and his mother years ago. I immediately asked them to send the basketball coach from Northern Iowa down to Bama and they got a good chuckle out of that.

The game was interesting as we watched freshman pitcher Alexis Osorio pitch for the first time and I was surprised that CPM pitched her in back to back games as he usually limits the freshmen pitchers in their first year. She doesn't pitch like a freshman and nor does the other freshmen play like freshmen. There is a load of talent on this team and now they must find the chemistry to use all of them on an equal basis to utilize their talents. They will find out next weekend how good they really are as they travel to California and play in a tournament at Stanford. I can promise you they will be tested there. Last year they went to Arizona early in the season and found out they had a long way to go to be a good team as they got spanked pretty good out there.

Thanks again to 2 and Mrs. 2 for helping make our whirlwind day to be so much fun, it was well worth the time and effort.

Chech, as I read yesterday's paper this morning, I noticed an obit for Dr. H. T. Boschung. I'm sure you have some past memories of him while in school at Bama.

Sad news indeed, Jamos.  Herb Boschung was a fine biologist, and spent many years teaching at Alabama.  His ichthyology field trips were legendary; catching fish and having fun.

Thanks for the update.  I didn't know.

Thanks also for the update on your trip south.  Y'all had fun again!

Yes we did and I wish that you and LF had been there with us. I found an article on Dr. Boschung that might interest you.

I'm sleeping in too much these days and missing out on the early morning action.

Sorry to hear about your friend. Sounded like a great guy.

J, thanks again for everything yesterday. We always have a great time when we get together and yesterday was no exception.

Chech, are you scoring any rare finds at the gun show?

Got some nice old German knives and a 1920s Case knife.  Woot.

Glad you woke up!
